Someone I know went off and bought a tidy 04 :DNissan Kubistar van, the badge engineered 1.5dci Renault Kangoo.
When asked what I thought of it I cringed, given Renault's horrible track record in reliability.

    Was I right to???

The 1.5 is a decent engine.

I know one of them used to eat turbos for breakfast... Maybe that was the 1.9 from the laguna???

It's a fairly decent unit and surprisingly nippy given it's small capacity, also used in the Nissan Qashqui btw.

BEWARE OF THE INJECTOR FAULT MESSAGE!!!! apparently fixed from 04 on though...they used to eat turbos....and generally anything to do with the engine!

What's the injectors fault message about?

I've got the 1.5 TD in my 2009 Laguna. Its very quiet, economical (50mpg+) and quite nippy seeing as its pulling a big car.

Of course the serial Renault bashers will jump in here with both feet saying "never touch a Renault". Funny because of the 8 I've owned, only one gave me grief and that was my Megane which had the well known window regulator problem. It always started first time though unlike the "reliable" VW and Toyota cars I've owned in the past:rolleyes:

Ah yeah I'm sure there's plenty of people around here that really..really don't have a clue about Renault.
I just let them bash away, they make their cars very cheap for me :)
