Nice to see that the search function is beyond the ability of even the longest users of boards.ie

See my response in an almost identical thread from yesterday

You use the (useless IMO) search engine every time you post?.

Well done you (on mastering the search engine at least).

Definitely expel the papal nuncio, and do the old "wait and see" for breaking diplomatic relations completely.

Since charging The Pope would be a legal cluster fvck would it make better sense to cut diplomatic relations with The Vatican?
There are about 1.1 billion Catholics in the word. Do you really think anyone gives a **** if we 'break diplomatic relations with The Vatican'?

I'd prefer to break the Vatican, rather than just break diplomatic relations with them.

Do I really need to poll this one?.

I couldn't give a fúck if I get banned for this: That filthy piece of shít that is living up in the Phoenix Park the Papal Nuncio should be dragged by his fúcking ear out of his palace, and kicked as far as Ringsend and then dropped off the end of the pier with a pair of breeze blocks strapped to his ankles.

I thought Papal infallibility was done away with years ago.
    Anyway, interesting reading: http://www.liberalslikechrist.org/Catholic/papalinfallibility.html

I lost a friend many years ago to this sort of stuff, (suicide at the age of 12). The thoughts of the cover up and the scheming and the conniving and the deceit, the legal chicanery, subsequent to the injustice, is what I find to be even more disgusting than the abuse.

I might have to stand corrected on that Reina Attractive Volleyball, he did live there at some stage though, I think it is an art's and heritage centre now, formerly Ashtown Castle but I always remember the place as being called the "Papal Nuncio's house", growing up around there as a kid.

Well yes definatly cut ties with the vatican. I think we need to prosecute those in the state who did nothing while this was going on. One of Brendan smyths victims victims for instance reported what happened to the gaurds. His mother after a while waiting for action went down to the station to find out what the delay was only to be told they had lost the file. Grown men had lost a file about a child molester. The victim later commited suicide. Someone who plucked up the courage to talk about what happened to him was met with the incompetence of having his file lost due to gaurda inaction he took his life. Newsnight covered this very case and stated the person who told his mother the file had been lost is in a high position of power in the gaurda.

The church had power here yes but anyone I know but we let them. Out of the hundreds of cases reported how many reported have the dpp decided to go ahead with? How many of these scum are in jail? Some people in The hse, the gaurds the department of education knew what was going on. These children on the institutions were sent to work with local farmers covered in brusies how did they not think something was wrong? A lot of people church or state were told and did nothing.

I think until you find yourself standing in your school uniform at a guard of honour looking at a white coffin being wheeled past you, and then to see the child abusing paedofile who caused the death, getting up on the alter and give the homily, you can't identify with the kind of hatred that some people like myself have for this disgusting organisation that has more in common with Satan than with any Christ like character.

If Jesus Christ came to Ireland today and saw his "church", you could forget about him throwing a tantrum in the temple and knocking over a few tables, the fúcker would be driving in a Sherman Tank up to his churches...

I know of someone else abused by the RC Church many years ago but it was considered anti-catholic to complain / not the done thing...so it never appeared in any statistics....like most abuse by the RCC I would imagine.

Yes indeed a lot of it went unreported the priests described in the ryan report were sick twisted people.

by the way Im not saying all gaurds did nothing a lot did and received tremendous abuse for doing so. One gaurd described having dog "£$% pushed through his letter box.

I know this sounds completely and utterly fúcked up, because you look at the abuse of a child and you say to yourself, "there is nothing that can be more horrendous, there isn't an act that is more sick or depraved"...

But then you stand back and you see that behind that person, was a hierarchy of people, who knew all along, who just happen to be experts in morality and the "truth", who covered it all up, who moved a sexual predator from one school to another, who denied liability at every single juncture, who got into their own beds every night in the full knowledge that someone under their control was going to abuse a child the next morning and just thought to themselves, "ah sure it'll be grand and sure if it isn't grand we'll just deny it every happened or the solicitors will sort it out"...

Yea very true hellfire it fails me that a bishop can stand there and say " I couldnt do much as I wasnt the persons superior" and then make a kid sign a form promising not to tell anyone. Anyone who does that is an abuser in my opinion.

The word "sick" doesn't cover it, I can't help but think that these people, because they were never allowed to marry and have kids, just don't identify with the inherent humanist streak that the rest of us have, (and I don't even have any kids), that would cause any of us to automatically look out for and extend the best interests of any child.
