I mean, how do they get away with writing ridiculously long-winded articles about a non-event? Where do they get their adjectives from? Who buys this paper anymore?

And don't get me started on their sycophantic arse-licking pieces in the magazine where C-list Irish celebs talk about me, me, chilling with my friend Ronan Keating/Gavin Friday/Dana oh, and me. Knobs.

...All the more reason not to buy it. As long as they print such trash, my money stays in my pockets.

It would have useful if they put in a paragraph about Breifne O'Brien, I don't know who he is

Instead they write about his clothes, where he goes and what he looks like
Is this what the Sindo considers news? More like a fashion article

But it's under national news and I now know more about his tan then any financial dodgy dealings

I have no idea who he is but from the tone of the article the writer clearly wants to ride him!

    .

Various elder relatives of mine, have a Sunday morning regime of going to Mass and buying the Sindo. They will continue to do so until the priest is replaced with a stripper and a page three girl is added to page three. Why? I don't know. The Sindo is better than the Sun only because the sheets fit in the litter box better.

Havent bought it since they did a terrible article on the female garda who died while giving birth to twins, one of whom died. in the same article they decided to drag her husband in it by saying he was the man who shot a man on duty.

Despicable, all my work colleagues have refused to buy it since.

What suprises me is that the people who start these shyte threads are generally moaning about the paper. Why buy it? Why look on their website, if you know it's full of trash

They might be giving away free Taytos, and you wouldn't want to miss that opportunity.

I don't like crisps, so I've no reason to go anywhere near the Indo website. I only read the articles in After Hours.:(

If it's non-news how did it end up as a thread topic in AH?

...Because daftness of stuff should be exposed for what it is sometimes?
Otherwise such drivel will only increase exponentially in relation to people not speaking up against such tripe.

Wouldn't it be a better idea to just ignore it and it'll go away?

    Hasn't worked on rag newspapers
    Religions banging on peoples doors
    Nazi's (Germany 1939 onwards)
    Terrorists
"We want your old clothes" leaflets
    Spammers
    Etc... You name it...

Not just about the Sunday Indo but other stuff in general, its better to speak up than suffer in silence and think your alone.

Bizarre. If we ignore it, it'll try to exterminate a whole race of people?

It's a newspaper (allegedly), so if people don't buy it it'll go out of business.

Back in the 90's they quoted a piece of sh*t criminal that had screwed my father financially and left his wife with 10 kids to flee the fraud squad with his mistress. The criminal had taken hundreds of thousands out of my dads company and they quoted the criminal in their paper (without veryifying it) saying that my dad was the one up to dodgy dealings.

Funny how my dad is still paying for the criminals actions and the fraud squad spent years trying to get him when he fled to the USA!

I wish my dad had of sued the paper for defemation of character at the time as I presume its too late at this stage!

F**kin piece of sh*t rag . Wouldnt wipe my ass with it!

Sadly as its still appears, folk still do buy it - so they are not ignoring it.

Sorry to hear that. I simply don't trust the majority of mass media at face value these days. If it weren't for the fact most of these papers twist the actual events, I believe the stories would not be half as interesting to the man on the street.

well, out of habit every day I read all the Irish papers' websites for news headlines. This was on the front page of website today alongside NOTW scandal, Papal child abuse stuff and I just got cross. I have written to them a few times asking why they print such crap but I guess nobody cares! Or maybe I'm in a minority and people actually want to to know about these perma-tanned people who go to the shop and what sort of milk they buy, I dunno....

I guarantee you, next week we have a headline on "stunning, perfectly coiffed Rosanna Davison and meathead boyfriend caught up with Sindo while taking a leisurely stroll in the leafy suburb of Sandycove. While stopping briefly at Teddy's to pick up a delicious, ice-white 99 that perfectly complimented Rosanna's well-known dazzling smile, meathead boyfriend picked up a packet of Jelly Tots. Remarked Rosanna of her beau: 'he's always liked Jelly Tots. Especially the yellow ones'. The onlookers beamed at the obviously head-over-heels couple as they casually ambled along, feeding each other confectionery that perfectly complimented their sugary affection for each other."
