Since charging The Pope would be a legal cluster fvck would it make better sense to cut diplomatic relations with The Vatican?

Do I really need to poll this one?.

Maybe I should have put in a reference to child abuse scandals in the original post, my bad.

Hopefully it'll be a first step to invading the Vatican to arrest their senior management to stand trial.

Sòmething needs to be done in the strongest possible way,They could at least suspend relations with the vatican until mcgee is brought back to answer some very serious questions.

Well we kicked out an Israeli diplomat because they forged some Irish passports. You would think we'd do something similiar to the Vatican over the cover up of decades of torture of Irish people.

Send the rangers in, take them out quietly;-)
The Israelis are good at that I'm sure they would be more than happy to help

I think we should add the church to the list of proscribed organisations, arrest their leadership and send in the CAB to confiscate their ill-gotten gains. For starters anyway.

It won't happen. The relationship between the Roman Catholic church and the Republic of Ireland has been going for a long time and will take many more cases to come out before this happens.

Yeh this is probably true. I get the distinct feeling that the supposedly severe response from the government is all hot air at the moment and sadly will probably just dwindle away in a few weeks.

They can - but only when its just suits them entirely or when they start another PR exercise for their flock.

this song always gives me a boner, I wholly endorse it

**** the pope, **** the vatican, **** the church and everyone who follows it

I despise the institution of the Catholic Church. I really do. I can't think of anything I hate more, in fact. They should all be arrested and tried for their continual crimes against humanity throughout history.

We didn't sever relationships with the israelis though

the Vatican can play a little game where the nuncio is an ambassador of a sovereign state but is also dealing with the church here. He should be brought in and told that if the vatican has directed irish citizens to break the law then he's on the next flight home. At the very least they should be told that their congress is a non runner as is any visit by der pope.

Alan Shatter will probably scared of doing that given that he's a jew and the charlie churches will hold that agin him
