    Progress has been made.

I thought I had ****ed my laptop up by turning it on around 10 times straight after it happened.

I turned it there, probably should've waited sooner but sure. Anyway, it came on fine and it's working alright... except for the keyboard. I can't type - anything. Any advice?

The battery is gone also... but that doesn't bother me tbh.

Can you unbrick an iPod Touch? It's one of my old ones, and want to see if I could revive it.

Basically, won't turn on, and computer won't detect it via its own programs and also iTunes.

If I can just get it to look like it's working, I could sell it to someone for €50 or something...

Do you have any keyboards that get plugged in via USB? Like, the ones that PC's use? That'd do the trick!

Or, if you manage to get onto the desktop, click through Control Panel, go to "accessability" (I think) and go to "On screen Keyboard"

I had to do this before, so it should work. Good luck!

Thanks! Touchpad stopped working now too, so I'll just have to get a mouse.

Oh ok. It's possible (note:Extremely difficult) to navigate a computer using only a keyboard and not a mouse, so if you need to transfer very important files to anoter hard drive fast, you could do that. What caused all of that to happen? Drink spill? If this is the case, remove the Hard Drive if you can (with screwdriver), as if any liquid gets into that, you can kiss goodbye to everything on the computer!

Yep, spilled water on it. There's nothing important on it really.

It won't turn on at all now.

The product has a "1 Year: Carry-in (ITW)" warranty, whatever that is, so it's still under warranty.

I know it probably doesn't cover water damage... but I'll just tell them I don't know why it's not working and see what happens...

That's crap, sorry about that. Do you need a replacement laptop? I know some crazy deals!

Don't bother with repairs, assuming no vital info is on the HD, you would be wasting cash as you would be paying (in or around) what the laptop costs brand new.

pfffffft (im also freaked out by Deises stalking >_>)

Desire, Open up the laptop and take everything out. Put it in rice and keep it warm.
Perhaps nuke certain areas with a hairdrier

Im subscribed to this thread coz I posted here, I read all my subscribed forums, albeit some more thoroughly than others..
    But yea :)

It's International Travel Warranty, which means you are covered even if some African pirates (ahoy!) smashed it while you were visiting Somalia. I am going to say it's an Acer? My old one had ITW warranty.

    Yeah, it's an Acer.

I need a laptop definitely. I've no money though tbh. I thought they would repair it for free if it's under warranty?

It depends on the strictness of Acers repair dudes and/or whether water residue remains to be seen. See what happens, they won't charge you for trying!

If you want a quality laptop for under €500, I know some pretty good offers (assuming you will trust eBay! I know some people that won't use it out of principle, but PayPal covers you completely)

Anyway, contact Acer customer support and see what happens! :)

Has anyone here ever tried the Bass Cannon test without damaging their hearing? I regretted doing it so much, I couldn't hear for at least 5 hours. Seriously.

If all comes to all, you could try a rockbox flash. You might even like it. :pac:

I wouldn't recommend it, it'll blow your ears to bits...

Get Bass Cannon by Flux P. on youtube, put the quality to 720p, put your subwoofers/earbuds(earphones dont work)/headphones (really high quality ones) to full blast, and try to remain conscious.

It ****ed up my mates ear really bad. It's the most surreal experience with music you can have.

It's actually stuck in DFU mode (aka recovery).

I held down the sleep and home button for too long by accident, and then it wouldn't turn on, and my computer wont detect it.

You keep mentioning really high quality headphones(seen it in a few of your posts now) and you've never said which ones you have. What do you consider high quality headphones?

Haha I know, I'm a bit of a Nazi when it comes to sound quality....
The best earbuds/earhpones I have are all Sennheiser, a german company. Not expensive at all, but fantastic quality. I know people aren't into that sorta stuff, but anyway =P

I know it's all a bit silly to be like that about music, but I find the difference is amazing! It's like you feel the music!!! But I think it depends on what sorta music you like.

My best headphones have to be Sennheiser HD 518 (lol something like that, I think it's either that or 514). Any one else have any good headgear?

Not that expensive, I know (could they be considered "budget" headphones?) but wow, such value for money
