Did she say in the letter that her or her husband reported the scrounger?

I agree. Polish are very productive and are always looking for more work. One polish person I know works for Sky, A Chipper and a Shop. I'd imagine he never sleeps. Also the Polish could also give out most Irish business owners pay Irish people more for half of the work.

If that is true then it explains why our teenagers can't find any part time work. Productivity must be balanced out by labour laws. These laws are regularly flouted by "Polish that are very productive".*

    *based on my own observations.

A fair society that provides working opportunities for all cannot and will not be built on this model which Ireland has developed.

My opinion is that many of the Eastern European tradesmen learned the lazy attitude from Irish tradesmen, fellas used to 6 teabreaks a day.

What do you expect them to do when they see their Irish bosses drop everything at a moment's notice cause the kettle just boiled?

Eastern Eurpopeans are crazy hard workers, Asians tend to be the same, they put the vast majority of us Irish to shame on the work front to be honest.

All the above is true.......in fact I,m in charge of teaching foreign tradesman to be lazy....6 teabreaks a day...mere amateurs ...9 at the very least

I think they are right but also I would not have a problem if they had the same rule for Irish.

Oh no oh no someone on the interweb is telling me off. Grow a pair dude. If you don't like my posts argue them don't make childish insults. Now jog on whilst the adults discuss things.

I have no idea what the **** you are doing but there is no way in Hell you are discussing anything! You have very bad "Opinions" on things and don't type in a mannerly way, you are racist and ignorant.

That's hardly an Irish / Polish (or any other nationality) thing in fairness. It's human nature. If people can slack off most will, regardless of nationality. It's more bad management than laziness.

I have to say I didn't see much of that during the 'Celtic Tiger' years!

Crazy hard workers or desperate? The two should not be confused. I worked with an Asian guy who had not had a day off in 60 days. He could hardly stand up. I worked with a Nigerian whose wife was about to divorce him because she had not seen him in so long. That isn't a success, it's exploitation.

I also worked in a place where the Chinese cleaner would get other Chinese to do his work while he went off on another job. This went on for months before it was spotted. An Irish person would have rung in with an excuse and got fired. That doesn't make the Chinese guy a better worker!

The Irish have a reputation for being among the best workers in the World ... though usually when they leave Ireland and work for people who appreciate them.

just noticed on an earlier comment "We all know this will never happen. The UN wont allow it." if anyone is depending on the U.N. for anything i am afraid the cause is lost !!!!! just look at their recent record but I think it is the EU is responsible in this case............

Not sure where you're getting your statistics from. Just because I would agree to the Dutch doing this does not mean I'm a racist.

Also as far as I'm aware the UN is only involved if its international law..... this wouldn't be....

I would have to say i have no idea where DarylH is coming from with all of this??

How would one be a racist for agreeing with this? This is not a racist thing to do, its a country who is trying to protect itself from fraud and prevent itself from being in the mess like this country is in....

Also whats 24% about??? Respect? For people who spend more than 15 months in a country and make no effort to speak its language? Surely it would be out of respect to try to learn some of the language for the country you are in and are going to try to get money from the government off???

DarylH your stats and opinions are way off... are you even reading the same words as me?

One would've thought if the UN could interfere with something like that, then surely they would've stepped in for the 3000+ returning Irish emigrants last year being refused the dole for not having an Irish address for two years+.... where are their Human Rights?

Plus the Dutch wouldn't have mentioned doing this if they couldn't pull it off seeing as its the 4th major centre for the UN and also The International Court of Justice (UN) is in The Hague....

I dont think this is exclusive to Holland,France and I think a few other European Countries have the three month rule where Bulgarian and Romanian nationals are concerned
