Wifi tethering on iphone

Hi, Is it possible to do wifii tethering without jailbreaking the iphone ? Is there an app which allows this, if so, which is the best one to use. Thanks

Yes it's called mobile hotspot and is in settings.

If you do use the mobile hot spot, does anyone know what access point it uses? Eg does it come out of your iPhone data allowance or is it charged separately?

i dont think the hotspot can share wifi, only 3G/EDGE
i tried it the other night and it disconnected from the wifi straight away

If you're with 3 it comes out of your allowance, not sure about the others.

If you're with Vodafone it most definitely does NOT come out of your allowance, far all others it does...

No it turns your 3G into wifi. If there was already wifi there why would you want to share with the phone rather than connect directly, but pointless no?
