I can tell you with 100% certainty that if the hospital doesn't stay as it is that there will be one FG td at most if any in that constituency after the next general election.

I can also tell you that those tds can expect to be visited and have their houses picketed over this.

You can take a lot of things off Roscommon but if you touch their hospital they get serious. Sean Doherty was a poll topper his whole career and then lost his seat over that hospital, Terry Leyden likewise.

As for Ming, I think everybody knew that he was not going to be in government when they were voting him in. He has speaking rights in the house and is active in the Dail and I'd think that people are happy to have a pro-hospital and bog voice of dissent.

I'll have a bet with you if you want to escrow money. I'm willing to bet any amount(that I can afford) that Ming Flanagan will be re-elected in the next general election. If you give me a price I'll take him to top the poll.

Actually the people felt that he could do a deal with Fg as they were possibly going to be in a position to need his help.

No they didn't. Some deluded people might have thought that but not the huge majority of voters.

Is that like a heroin seed?

    A cannabis leaf.

So first "everybody" and then "some" think that he wouldn't be in government.

He was willing to go into government with FG, I can guarantee you.

    Pedantic much?

And of course he was willing to but that doesn't mean that many people believe it was likely. Now good morning, I rarely post here so won't be back for quite a while.

    .

He'll probably get re-elected, but i don't see him topping the poll. The feel good factor of having a voice in Dail Eireann will work for a certain while, but if he's not seen to deliver on key issues, i fear he'll lose votes among many of those who took a first time punt on him because they felt he could get things done as a TD. Perhaps I'm wrong. I hope so.

Ming's effectiveness( or lack of) will be evident when Roscommon General Hospital A&E Dept is closed.
Yeah thats a nice 'can't lose' statement. If they keep it open you come back and say it had nothing to do with him either.

I rarely post here, despite my average of 3,000 posts per annum AND the fact that two of the last three posts are mine. Who am I?

When(if) the A&E is kept open I will give him the same credit as all the other politicians who should have nothing to do with it.

Ming at a meeting over the hospital the other night. They didn't expect anything even close the attendance that was there. He needs to stop rubbing his beard lol.
