ice bank only efficient if you can use all night rate, so if you expand and your builder is too small itl cut in during the day, may be more of a place for ice bank if smart meters come in but from my reading that on single phase its a good bit off.

flodded evap seems to be more efficient that dx, mueller have a similar system to the darikool (called high perform) in that all the evaporator plate is used for cooling (unlike dx where 1/4 of the tank is where the refrigerant changes from liquid to gas before going back to compressor). But the mueller doent have the pump down system which pumps the refrigerant out of the tank before washing (other wise evaporator plate will crack), all dx tanks have this i think

alot of darikool going in around here now, other companies cant match price
