That's when most colleges start. It may vary slightly from year to year, so the only people who can answer your question are the people running it. Contact the college.

As Deemark stated contact the college itself. However do remember that the FE sector must follow the standarised school year calendar and thus Cavan Institute probably be opening from about 29th August.

I was told by someone going to Cavan Institute that they were back on 5th Sept.

That's interesting FE, but I wonder how will that work? Will students be expected to attend from the first day of the term. In my centre (secondary school + FE), we haven't changed the return date of FE students; it's still the middle of Sept. The first few weeks are regarded as preparation time and our plans are still based on mid-Sept to early May.

There is something in the Croke Park Agreement re that time at the start and end week of the academic year when FETAC students were not in class. It will have to be accounted for in terms of Tutor's time etc and I know one centre the Principal and staff decided it was better to have classes running than trying to schedule the 22hrs per staff member etc.

Also remember with the new FETAC programmes there is a time requirement per credit of 10 hrs per one credit so those few weeks at start and end will be used up.
