My boyfriend and i booked a holiday to Greece with Falcon Holidays back in April. We did this online. When booking the holiday, my boyfriend gave his credit card details and after booking i recieved an email saying that a deposit of E140 was taken and that the remaining balance of E1188.00 was due by June 12th. I have been on numerous package holidays with various travel agents over the years and it has always been my experience that they automatically take the remaining balance out of your account on the day its due. im not one for regularly checking emails so i got the shock of my life today when i saw 3 emails from falcon sent over a two week period stating that the balance had not been paid and that unless payment was made by June 24th the holiday would be cancelled. Seeing as how today is June 27th i am worried the holiday has been cancelled. i cant ring them until the morning and am going out of my mind with worry. Can they do this? When booking we gave them two mobile numbers and they never tried to contact us this way. i cant believe that they would cancel our holiday without trying to properly contact us. There is more than enough money in our account to cover the holiday and it cannot be that there is a problem with the account because they took our deposit out from it fine and it has been used most days. They have our credit card details, why did they not just take it out of our account themselves like every other travel agent normally does. Also their was no details in the confirmation email of how we were supposed to pay it if it did not come out of our account automatically on the due dats. Does anyone have any advice or has anything similar happened to them? i would really appreciate anyones input, thank you
