Wait till later, you will see "stereotypes" of all kinds come on this thread and change it dramatically.

    Now you're stereotyping AH'ers ;)

I haven't seen one in a 'proper' job, but I don't think it is because they choose not to work.. It must be very difficult for them. The school system doesn't do much to combat prejudice so there is a very high percentage who leave without qualifications. Also, a lot of employers would not take them on and I am sure that they would not have the confidence to take up the equality issue. The girls would never consider working after marriage, and they are all married by the time they are 18. I think they get quite a tough time...

You want adults to go to national school?
There are many schools whose students are adults. Not that the travellers would want to stay in one for an entire 9 months, and that's only if a different family didn't come into class, or some such bullsh|t.

The typical Traveller would run circles around the typical average joe. They know how to deal, that is for sure.

The organisation I work for has employed a lot of travellers over the last 10 years. I would always look forward to interviewing them as some of the answers they come out with are priceless.

We've had some problems with performance, attendance, misconduct but I wouldn't think it's any worse, we wouldn't keep exact statistics, as people from the settled community.

One problem we have, is that the girls tend to leave when they're getting married. Some of them would be decent workers and we'd spent a lot of time & resources training them up.

Fair play to all those who actually discussed the topic even if the OP didn't quite intend on it being so civilly done.

Think it's gone as far as it can though.
