I bought this because of the box art. I love some of the Japanese box art used on the Gameboy Advance games.

A big parcel arrived for me today. I got a MegaDrive II and 32X both of them are in excellent condition with all original packing. There were a few games thrown in too. This almost completes the Sega collection I used to have. Although I used to own the original MegaDrive not this smaller version.

I don't know what it is about the summer but it drives me to eBay. Last summer I bought a good bit of stuff and didn't buy anything during the winter or spring.

I'm a sucker for NTSC-J box art too. Especially Super Famicom boxes. :o

I remember when I got it originally. It was Christmas Day and I was super excited for it. I had Doom ready and waiting to be played. But the 32X just wouldn't work. I was pretty pissed off. Thinking I'd have to wait for days before getting it replaced. Turned out that one of the connections wasn't in firmly enough. It really had to be pushed in hard. We figured that out late afternoon and Christmas was saved :)

Heh, that's the 32X for you. The amount of times I've thought mine is broken only to realize it's not wired up correctly.

I can only imagine the amount of frustrated parents on Christmas morning when it was released

Virtual Boy arrived this morning! I hooked it up to see if it had survived the shipping process and if there was no problems with the screens. The two screens work beautifully. What a gorgeous machine. The stand seems in perfect nick as well. My mother on the other hand wasn't quite so impressed and I got an earful about buying more games and consoles to take up even more space. She wouldn't understand.

Unfortunately I'll be correcting my thesis until well into the night. Life, you giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other :(

I get that every single time I buy something

Also re the thesis, just add a note in saying pass me and i'll give you a go of my virtual boy. Although, might want to make them aware of what it is first!! Could be an awkward situation otherwise.

Congratulations on the Virtual Boy. However I think the occasion has been marred by your lack of purchasing a copy of Vertical Force to complement it.

I'd say your Virtual Boy is very upset with you right now for this exact reason. :(

Have fun tearing your hair out. My advice is to have patience and take the game very slowly. Also there's no shame in consulting the Demon's Souls wiki.

Not exactly getting something new , but got around to taking an old dell laptop minus screen ,slapping a hard disk and xp in it , hooking it up (discretely so my missus doesn't complain)to the big sony trinitron , getting the contents of an old (0.89) MAME32 DVD working, faffing about with joy2key and a Hori Fs3 and voila ..dedicated arcade consoley thing! ;)
Given the laptop is much smaller without the screen , the whole setup sits nice and neatly with the other consoles :)
now all I have to do is play through all the games and take screen shots.
..and work out how to stop it automatically rotating shoot em up's 90 degrees
....and work out how to get it to start full screen.
......and getting the dancemat working for track n field ;)
heh good thing messing about with this kind of setup is half the fun.:)

    Pleasure week! :D
I got myself the last book in the Demon's trilogy by Sarah Rees Brennan (actually I already did last week - had it preordered ;D)
    I bought the Tron Legacy 3D 5-disk-set
preordered The Rise of Isengard (enhancement for Lord of the Rings Online) and got myself 30 Euros in paysafecard to spend on the LotRO store :D
Worked like crazy all of last month and though I deserved that, haha :D

Picked this SMS cart up for 3 quid in rage
Totally worth it , if only for the famous "WTF!?!" cover, featuring a deranged headless wrestler!

Got these in the post today.
Not the most exciting thing to ever grace these pages but if your going to get some scart cables then you could do a lot worse than getting some "Duronic" branded ones from Amazon.

They have great shielding and have a fantastic connector and they just feel like quality. Proper gold plating all the way.
They normally go for £40 sterling but can be had for £8.99 at the moment.

Also grabbed a RGB scart cable for my Dreamcast. I normally hook it up via a VGA box but have been wanting to play House of the Dead and you need a CRT for the guns.

These are to connect my RGB scart switch box to the TV.

Picked this up about and week and a half ago:

    FF1.jpg

This is the first boxed NES game I have bought since 1992 and I can't get over the additional material you get with the game. The instruction manual is 84 pages long and jammed with detail. As if that's not enough there's also a World Map, Dungeon Map, Monster Guide and Weapons & Armor Chart.
Games released today with that much "extra" usually come under the heading "Super Ultra Rare Hyper Special Edition." However as I don't have a big NES collection it could well be normal for a game to have this much extra content but in any case I am well impressed.

(now I just gotta get myself a NES...)

Not new really as I've had the MVS 161 in 1 cart for a while but I only got the game list/flyer thingy today.
The megadrive game beside it is just for size comparison for anyone who hasnt seen how big an MVS cart is.

A friend who lives in Tokyo sourced it for me and posted it over.
Paid 200 yen for it in one of the smaller places in Akihabara, not sure the name.

    It's just a sticker really.

€12.99 eh? might just pick that bad boy up the weekend!

Hmm for 12.99 it's not bad considering I've Space Channel 5 but not part 2... although I hear there's no michael jackson in this one :(

Only one I had was Crazy Taxi, but couldn't pass it up for 13 yooro. The thrill of opening a brand new game was worth it alone :D

I've got a bunch of new clothes which is not normal for me. I wish I could spend the money on some new games...

I bought it about a month ago, and tbh I haven't played it all that much. Had Crazy Taxi on the PS2, and the Dreamcast version is almost identical. Sonic is terrible imo (I'm a massive Sonic fan, but the camera control in this one makes it almost unplayable), Sega Bass fishing is......well, it's fishing! Mildly entertaining! Which leaves Space Channel 5 Part 2 which is actually a lot of fun, until the novelty wears off.

Anyway, I actually have a question for all you wise people! Picked up a PSP in HMV today. It was a preowned one but I made sure to ask whether is was a Series 3 (3000). They checked and said it was. Took it home, opened it up - and it's a Series 2. :-( Should I take it back, or does it not really make a difference?
