Any other players buy the Colin McRae charity mkII Escort and notice that there's now another identical mkII in the open class that is seperate dlc? Am I the only one that thinks having paid €1.50 to buy a mkII Escort that I should be entitled to both classes of the SAME car? It's a real f##k up on codemasters part imo.

Agreed. DLC is a horrible road to go down, but not surprised with codemasters. They used to have premium rate numbers you had to call to get cheats to unlock stuff.

I dont mind dlc, its quite good in some cases such as red dead and gta but charging twice for the same thing is my issue.

ummmmmm........really? Don't go to any rallys do ya?

A historic mk2 group 4 escort is from the 70s they didn have much more than 200bhp and had 2L bda engines

an open or "modified" as they're known in ireland class escort mk2 is a car favored by rally fans the world over. They have modern suspension and parts throughout and have engines up to 2.8L in size with up to 350bhp. The only similarity between the historic and open cars is that they have similar looking bodies.

Both cars were hugely influential in their respective classes and are not the "SAME" car and for that reason codemasters have every right to charge for them separately. And if you did think that they are the same car why would you buy second one in the first place?

I know as much about rallying as the next fan and have attended various rally events so there's no need to bring that school yard "I know more than you" logic into play thanks very much. My point as I have previously stated is that while they are in different classes it's a swizz to charge twice for what is a different version/spec of the same car.
Also I never bought the second mkII.

But they're not different versions of the same car! That's like saying that a bmw 318d is the same as an m3. Its just not true! They've got the same basic chassis but apart from that almost every part is different!

Yeah ok fair enough point there.

(Important) I think this may have actually been a glitch. Having gone through the car list in game again I noticed that the escort available to buy in "open" class has now been removed. Also when you consider the other cars in "open" are older model wrc cars with 4wd an escort mkII wouldn't be the same class, this must be a glitch.

P.S have any of you actually bought/seen this?
