Why is Boards dominated by males?

Like I say, it's only a few of the women I know. Most use the internet in what I would consider a fairly normal fashion: necessary stuff, facebook and some surfing, like most men I know too.

But there a few who, perhaps outside of a bit of facebooking, spend very little time online, and probably have never heard of boards.

There's plenty of men are like that too, but from anecdotal experience, more men seem to spend greater time online, and in a more invested fashion (eg. posting in forums instead of just doing a little chatting on facebook) than women.
There's not a great discrepancy, but there is some difference.

Moo you seem to be true democrat and I respect you for that but there is still a hint of sexism in your posts although I think it is unintentional to me you are coming across as a nice guy.

Thanks, and I apologise if I seem a bit sexist, it's certainly unintentional. Who knows, maybe I can't help being a little bit sexist automatically as I can only really see things from a male perspective.
I'm really just going by the people I know: most use the internet to what I would consider a fairly normal extent (and I'm not really counting facebook as it's so ubiquitous), but the ones who use the internet a lot are more often male, and the ones with little to no online presence are more often female, but it's not a sizeable difference in numbers.
Maybe I just need to know better people .

Anyway, it's funny the OP's brought this up, as I was surprised by the number of women on boards when I first started lurking, maybe just because I was expecting it to be mostly men!
