Hose pipe

Has anyone managed to successfully connect a hose pipe to the bog standard Charlesland kitchen taps?

I have tried every connection i can find with no luck at all.

The curve at the end of the tap makes it next to impossible for any standard fitting to work!

Have you tried any of the hoselock connections - they have quite a few - though I don't think Woodies stock the full range...

Something I did with a brush for the car - got from a different maker - would not fit the hoselock - but was able to use a standard hoselok adapter for the tap to fit it on - so maybe just play around with some of the different fittings?

I used to use the square adapter one here - worked well enough

Third on that one..... but just make sure the rubber seal is the right way up for the whatever tap you're connecting as the seal is reversible.

i got a y piece connector with on off controls that connects to the pipe for the washing machine which goes under the sink and stays connected. The father in law tried connecting to tap using above connector and squashed the tap!

yep I dented ours slightly by over tightening it. Still works perfect though as long as you ensure the rubber washer is sitting right in the connector.

Thanks for replies!

I have tried above and it keeps slipping off.

I am using the washing machine connection and as this is from the tank the pressure is useless.

Sorry Damo, I should have mentioned, I am in the wood and I can only suggest this connector for the kitchen mixer tap in the first phase of the wood. I loan mine to the neighbours when in need and it works fine on theirs too

They have a fairly good selection of them in Woodies in Bray so might be worth trying a few different ones, take them back if they don't fit.
