Just found 60e while out shopping today, and now I'm wondering what shall I do now? Of course my first thought was to race home and post on after hours as I know everyone so Honest and helpful here ;) before its suggested I don't need a new set of batteries!

Drop it into the local Garda station,if nobody clames it in a certain amount of time I think you get to keep it.

Spend it on yourself. You'll lose €60 one day and it won't feel too bad because you found it before.

On the ground inside shopping centre

go to customer service in the shopping centre and ask there if anyone has reported losing money.

Leave your details with customer service desk in the shopping centre (dont say how much you found)

However tempting it might be to keep the money,it just might have been someones only money for the week :)

Because the Guards definately wont claim it as their own after the year is up. Definately not.

No chance! They would pocket it and then state that someone claimed it after, I believe 18 months.

Spend it on a meal with your OH; someone's loss is someone else' gain.

Good for you for being honest, but it is better for you to enjoy it than someone that has 50 odd allowances to make up their pay and can retire at an early age.

A girl in a shop handed back my Mam a tenner that had dropped out of her pocket.
Mam gets home realises it's not her tenner as she still has hers.
Is then up all night fretting about "the poor creathur" who can't buy his spuds.
Few days later goes back to the shop to hand it in. Lady says nobody has asked so keep it.
Mam spends 2 days worrying, calling me for what to do (I said spend it!)
Eventually one of those envelopes comes through the door looking for donations for kids in need or something. She pops it in and feels like she will go to heaven. The drama!
I say spend it on something nice and enjoy it.
(or wait for one of those envelopes)

I once found a stack of notes sticking out of an ATM in Liffey Valley. I had seen the girl at the machine as I was walking up to it so I grabbed the money and ran up to her and said 'were you just at the ATM?' (I had only seen the back of her till then) Her face suddenly filled with panic and I said 'you left this' and handed it to her. She was so visibly relieved and thankful.

A few weeks later I lost my wallet and no-one returned it. So much for karma. :D

Can't see it being safe there. Maybe sellotape it on, or nail it to the horse.
