Online tide prediction software

    Hi,

    I'm looking for decent Online tide prediction software for at least the next 18 months for all areas of the Irish coast.

    Any ideas whats te best available either free(preferred) or to buy?

    EasyTide has been improved, now enabling you to select the date of your prediction. Choose any date between 100AD and up to 50 years in the future and access tide predictions for 7 or 14 days at a time. Enhanced predictions also include other useful information such as times of sunrise/sunset, lunar phases and Springs and Neaps data. Prices for enhanced predictions start at £1.00 (inc. VAT) for a 7 day prediction. Further information about pricing is available.

    good predictor with no date restrictions, but a bit fiddly to get set up. I like this one when on the desktop, or when looking forward more than 7 days. harmonics for UK&Irl are no longer in the product (see faq) so you'll have to be creative about getting the harmonics so this works for your area of coverage.

    Easytide is great. It gives tidal times in UTC (=GMT) so you need to adjust for BST. It is accurate as regards high/low times, but I cannot vouch for heights - I generally round heights down conservatively because they are affected by tidal swell, wind direction, air pressure, etc etc.

    In spite of what you may read in Yachtmasters courses etc., tidal predictions are generally good on times, but bad on heights. A 1m swell at Cobh is not at all uncommon, for example.

    As an alternative to software, most chandlers carry cheap tidal booklets.
