My ex was famous and he bought me many a drink and even dinner once or twice (what's the point if you can't boast about it after? :D )

I would hope that the point was to have a nice meaningful relationship with someone you love...not someone you can brag about having f'ked anytime they are on tv or whatever

Played golf and had a drink with Mike Costin (the Cos in Cosworth & Technical Director at Lotus during their F1 glory days of the early 60's) a motor sport legend.

Back in the day I had drinks with Noel & Mike from the Cranberries, David Gray & his nutty drummer Clune. I met the gay bloke from thin blue line in a pub in London once but we didn't exchange drinks (or any other fluids)

I was in a mates house and my ma rang me to say they were in the local drinking with 'some actor called will ferrell'. I was like yeah right just some yank taking the piss. She said he wants to talk to you so the guy comes on the phone and said hey its will! I went on a rant at the guy saying he was taking the piss out of my parents told him to f*** off and hung up.

Went in to meet my parents an hour later and they wer drinking with will ferrell, his dad and his brother. I apologised but he thought it was hilarious and we drank with them for the night!

Also was at a house party with the dirty sanchez guys. That was insane!

WooooOOOOOooo! What's your problem? My comment was a joke.

It was shortlived relationship and things ended a bit sourly. Rarely brag or even talk about it. This might be the second time in fact. Everyone whose met me since doesn't know.

Edit: You might have noticed I didn't mention his name...hardly boasting, is it?

Bought Bob Dylan a drink in Waterford a few years back, Spoke to him for a few mins and he was genuinely a very nice person. I think I was the only person to have recognised him as everyone was leaving him alone. I heard later that he was refused entry to the disco (rubys or masons not sure)

I met Ronnie Drew in a bar in the late 90's and went up to him and said "Hey Ronnie Im a really big fan,any chance of an autograph" He told me to "**** off and come back and address me as Mr Drew, you dont know me so its Mr Drew" So I went away and came back a few mins later and said "Sorry Mr Drew is there any chance you might sign this for me?" He started laughing and said "my name is Ronnie whats yours" I ended up having a good few drinks that evening and it ended up in a sing song later in the night. Its a night I will never forget. Truely a legend.

Had a pint with Jackie Charlton many years ago, another sound dude.

Through my djing career I've met a few world class djs and had drinks with them,Tiesto,Judge Jules and Carl Cox but none of them would stand a patch on Bob or Ronnie.

Had a few beers with Mani after he did a d.j. set supporting the Complete Stone Roses in Vicar St years ago ( mad, I know, supporting your own band's tribute act).

Used to have a few photos, I was twisted.

Dunno if this counts as famous, but the monk bought me a drink once, cause he knew the guy I was sitting at the bar talking to.

Also JP McManus bought me a couple of drinks, well not just me the whole pub. He knew the owner and there was 10-15 of us in the pub, he bought a few rounds for the whole shop.

    Alan Quinlan.
Owed a mate of mine a drink and the first time I saw him around to pay back the drink he was in a round with Alan Quinlan so I bought the two of them a drink and then left the bar.
One year to the day I bumped into Alan in a bar and he bought me a drink - remembered after all that time that I'd bought him a drink.
A really sound, down to earth guy!

Andy Carroll bought me a jagerbomb in Coppers last Christmas. He was there with Joey Barton and Chiek Tiote on Newcastle's Christmas Party. When I went to return the favour his bouncer drank it instead. Probably because the big man could barely stand up.

Matt Snell (http://www.fivefingerdeathpunch.com/matt.html) from Five Finger Death Punch, in Fibbers after the Lamb of God gig at the Academy they were supporting for (in 2009 I think?). Myself and my friend said all the normal "Hey man, great gig, totally gonna buy your new album now" stuff, then we proceeded to discreetly stroke his HUGE beard while talking to him (we were a bit giddy after the few pints in us). After ages he finally noticed and was like "Hey.....we're all men here!". Nice guy!
