Dara O' Briain in a club in Limerick.

He didn't buy me a drink, i actually picked up his pint by accident and had half of it consumed before he turned around and exclaimed ''whadda you doin with me pint?'' Needless to say i was mortified. I apologised and preceded to do some serious ass-licking, telling him how i loved him on The Panel and the like. He was grand about it though, no airs or graces i have to say.

I find those Paul McGrath stories very depressing. Everyone who knows him knows that he is an alcoholic. Why would anyone buy him drink?
Even worse is the poker story.
    Why?
I'd imagine McGrath would have had no problem taking the money off the poster.

I've chatted to and drank with Hiúdaí, Uilick(sp) O Connor and Rónán ó Ṡnodaigh. O Connor is exactly what you would expect from his writings - very smart. Hiúdaí (Joe O Domhnaill) is very funny and good craic. O Snodaigh is very sound. He really is a nice guy.

I met Michael D two days ago as well just walking about. I couldn't resist telling him that I wanted him to do well and that he'd get a good number of votes from connemara. I did it through Irish so it didn't seem so cringe-worthy. Fair play to him though, he was more than happy to indulge in Irish and I'm sure he would have kept chatting if I wasn't on my way back to work.
One thing that seemed odd though was that he was walking alone near Merchant's Quay when I met him. The man is 5' feck all and 70 odd years old. Brave or mad, he's got my vote anyway.

I only get to meet these people because, as a peasant from Connemara, I hang around the same Irish-speaking places that they do :o.
They make us sing songs, dress in aran sweaters and play the bodhrán for their sick entertainment.

Still, meeting Ronán Ó Snodaigh is always a pleasure. He's a genuinely nice guy with no airs or graces. He's a great musician and I have a lot of respect for the man.

    Enda Kenny

Was he sound? I've heard that he's sound to country folk like myself but that he doesn't know what to make of Dubs.

I was leaving a bar to head back to my seats at a fight once and there were so many people I wound up having to side step my way through the crowd with my arms raised to balance the drinks and not spill them, and Chael Sonnen (a UFC fighter) and I wound up tits to chest just as the crowd moved, pushing us much closer - he looked mortified, said he was sorry...and then Ed Herman (also a UFC fighter) came up right after him, same thing happened, only he copped a feel as he passed me. He should have bought me a drink for that.
