Uploading vids on Youtube.

Anyone know how long it takes for a video to become active on there?I uploaded a vid yesterday and can't find it by search even though it's on my channel.

Usually less than 30 mins before it becomes active.
Perhaps you set it to private?

I've had this issue before. The last vid I uploaded took nearly 24hrs before it became available by a search. You could access it straighway if you had the direct link though (and it was set to public).

I'm pretty sure i set it to public.I'll wait and see if anything changes by tomorrow.

It may depend on the content too. It looks like youtube scans every video for it's audio content and assigns the rights of the songs to the correct parties. the video is also going to rank badly in searches by default.

Did you add tags to help it show up high in searches?

Search using the name and adjust the search parameters to today and you'll find the video, I uploaded a video today and it was the only way I could find it, until it starts getting hits it will rank poorly! So far I am upto three and I think they were all myself!!
