Have you ever been recognized IRL by another boardsie?.

    Just wondered.

    I know a few here are very guarded in their identity and that's completely cool.

    But I'm not bothered, probably because a lot of us in the Martial Arts and MMA forum's would know each other personally and would refer to our real names in discussions in the forum.

    I'd say since Christmas I've been recognized, and approached by probably ten or more AH'ers.

    So have you been rec'd, or have you thought for a moment that that stranger on the street, or the bus, in a bar etc might be someone from boards.ie?.

    Well you have a link to your MSN on your visitors page so i'm guessing thats how they found out?

    Only by people I have organized to meet here in Melbourne for drinks etc the only photo of me on this site is of me wearing a giant awesome smiley face head I made so I don’t see how they could. If I had a picture of myself as my aviator like a certain individual I could see how someone might recognize me though particularly if my post per day ratio was higher.

    I have been, the first time it was a classmate who guessed I was Tar.Aldarion lol, it was when I first joined boards, he knew I would be in the same course as him though! Didn't know what I looked like so maybe not 'recognise'

    Quite a bit. I often get spotted while going about my day. People often come upto me in town and say "are you Fago from boards?"...... "Yeah"......"Cool, I'm <insert username I've never heard>".. "ah yeah I know I've seen you around. well I best be off" *scurries to pub*

    Sometimes people would PM me saying they seen me in the street. ****ing come up and say hello then!!!

    Nope not even close, but then again im general newbie on here compared to some people.

    Although I did find a friend of mine on here, he doesnt know never told him :o I recognised him by his username then when I had a quick flick through his posts defintely knew it was him all the post were things hed know very well and have a keen interest in, luckily our posts dont collide a lot:).

    I recognized one chap from Know Your Nerds when I was staying in a British Army base in the UK. Odd situation; he was giving a small talk and I was thinking "But but but... your grammar is awful online".

    Looking back, I should have started dropping in hints or things related to his posts. Could have messed with his head!
