I am off to west Africa in September for a job. Yippee, you say , what an adventure - but the only issue is i have not a word of french. Is there any intensive courses in Dublin where i can nuke my brain with french for 2 months?

    Try the Alliance Francaise.

Sandford might have something on. Also, be aware that the French in West Africa is different from the French in France/Europe.

Tbh, what you're looking for is pretty specific. A course with other students probably would go too slow for you. Try to find a French teacher who gives one-to-one lessons, with an emphasis on conversational French. The best you could hope for within 2 months would be good pronunciation, to able to make out (not necessarily understand) all the words people use, and to get the gist of what people are saying.

If you tell the tutor that you're guaranteed to be with him/her for the two months, 5 days a week, they'll probably give you a good rate.
