Damn good question.... I'd say at the current strike rate, 1 in every 20 games is worth the money they're asking for. Very poor.

Whats up with the Wii, there aren't even any retail releases in the pipeline.

Does Skward sword have a date yet? Its bound to be towards the vry end f the year if it does, thats 5 or 6 months with very little. I know we got 4 ig frnachises in quick success last year but the big N need to keep something coming. I know I rag on Nintendo on this thread for their strategy but its only cos I love them and I know they an do so much better:p

No date for Skyward yet, probably this year in Japan and early next year for Europe. If they delay it to use for Wii2, I'll go bananas.

    WiiWare
    Where's Wally? Fantastic Journey 2 (500)

    DSiWare
Successfully Learning English: Year 2 (500)

I was hoping MDK2 would be out this week (it came out in the states on Monday). :(

A new WayForward game (the guys who did Shantae RR) also came out in the states (Mighty Milky Way). No doubt we'll have to wait a few months to see that over here too.

    Virtual Console
    Super Adventure Island (SNES, 800)

    DSiWare
    Remote Racers (500)
    Successfully Learning English — Year 4 (500)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,754 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    DSiWare
    Go Series Picdun (500)
    Calculator (200)

    Virtual Console
    Chrono Trigger (SNES, 900)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,131 ✭✭✭Azure_sky

Would have got Chrono but already bought the DS version. I'm still waiting for Yoshi's Island.

    WiiWare
    FAST - Racing League (1000)

    DSiWare
    Mighty Milky Way (800)
    Successfully Learning English - Year 5 (500)

FAST looks very good (Wipeout/FZero with an Ikaruga-style polarity twist)

Mighty Milky Way is by the same guys who did Shantae, but I'm not sold on the gameplay video...

Think I will invest my hard earned in FAST, the video looks good. Dare say it will be way too quick for me to be any good at it, but still!

I'm thinking the same thing, it looks like it may be in spirit the F-Zero that the Wii never got to have. I've still got a cherished copy of F-Zero GX that gets played from time to time on my Wii, but having seen just how much fun a flight sim can be when it properly uses the wiimote & nunchuck like Blazing Angels, I would love to see a racing game with the same cleverness of control scheme.

    WiiWare
Yard Sale Hidden Treasures: Sunnyville (500)

    DSiWare
    Puzzle Rocks (500)
    My Little Restaurant (500)

FYI, Eurogamer put their FAST review up today (6/10) and a review for Mighty Milky Way (7/10). (Link)

Quiet week last week for the usual channels.
(Probably putting all their energy into the eShop!)

    VC
Super Adventure Island II (SNES, 800)

    eShop
Legend of Zelda - Links Awakening DX
    Super Mario Land
    Tennis
    Alleyway
    Excitebike

    Still no MDK2.

One lonely (but great) release on the eShop.
I think they should be aiming for at least 3 a week, tbh... Didn't they learn from the Wii VC?

    eShop
    Donkey Kong '94 (€4)

    DSiWare
    Ubongo (500)
    Airport Mania: First Flight (200)
Successfully Learning German: Year 2 (200)

    WiiWare
    Airport Mania: First Flight (500)
Successfully Learning German: Year 2 (500)

I'm hoping the reason they only released one game on 3DS this week is because most people would have spent their money on Zelda.
I can't believe Killer instinct and Yoshi's island have not been released on V.C.

It's almost impossible to play Killer Instinct legally today.

Yoshi's Island has the Super FX 2 chip in it though that helps it throw around sprites like crazy, it's a co-processor so it's probably very difficult to emulate. We might not see Yoshi's Island because of this. Killer Instinct is owned by Rare so no chance of that appearing.

Still Donkey Kong 94 is a truly amazing game, so be happy with it :)

They ported Yoshi's Island to the GBA so they have no excuse really :pac:

Also there was a reel of NES/SNES games at e3 2010 to showcase possiblitys for the 3d classics system...(not confirmed games) and yoshi's island was there i think :D

Well that explains why Starwing and Stunt race FX were never released on VC. I never knew Yoshi's island has the Super FX 2 chip in it.
As for Rare and KI. Rare are working with MS now I think, so I still don't understand why KI has never appeared on XBLA. It would sell like crazy.

Yep, but Yoshi's Island on the GBA was reprogrammed so that the extra CPU effects were carried out by the system. I'm sure if they want to release yoshi's island they will have to update the snes VC emulator which would be too much effort for nintendo.

Yep the super FX 2 chip was for extra sprite handling and also doing some crazy effects and not for 3D like the super fx 1 chip. Doom was the only other game to use the super fx 2 chip (not a true 3D game so the SFX2 chip was well suited to creating the 3D world out of 2D assets).

There was talk of a KI3 being in post production talks but nothing else about it. Maybe there's some rights issues over the original arcade game since Nintendo might still have the publishing rights while Rare own the IP.

Just wait for them to release gba games on the virtual console then :pac:

Double Dragon for the G.B. due for 3DS VC release in Japan this Thursday...not very excited about that one. I'm sure there will be more listed for release in the next few days.

On second inspection this looks somewhat better than I initially thought. I really enjoyed the NES version and thought the GB version would be massively downgraded but it seems very close to the NES version.
