CPL on a stepping up ring?

Does anyone know if there's any issues using a CPL on a 62-77mm step up ring? As far as I understand the physics it should be fine, does anyone have any experience of it that says different? Thanks!

It works for me. I use a 67mm polariser on my lenses with
a 52mm filter thread using a a cheap step-down adapter ring.
