No, you just can't sign up to it from here. You can however use a USA vpn to register for it, then it works here also

Is the general consensus that cloud music in general will catch on or will people still save their music locally?

Would prefer to be in control of my own data. Don't need anyone else looking after it for me and possibly at some stage charging a lot of money for it or censoring it for me

Amazon's is pretty nice, but really, I'd just love for Spotify to reach Ireland within the next year. It'd be worth their time!

Looks like iCloud isn't all its made out to be, first it won't sync media not paid for in iTunes, then this:
