    Hi all,

Mightily relieved to have found this thread - trying to insert an AUX cable in my Focus and discovered today that the key code someone had written in the manual is incorrect
Its a 6000CD and the serial number is M068254

Sincere thanks in advance for any replies...

    Should be 2864!

    Nice one...that worked sweet as a nut:D

You have not only helped fixed a radio but you might also have saved a marriage....heading to Clonakilty tmrw with Mrs. Cartman so no radio would have been a bad start to the long weekend

I'm only back in the country for a few weeks and after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery the radio is now asking for a code. The car is an old '99 Focus 1.4 hatch with a "6000 CD RDS E-O-N" head unit. Ford will probably charge me a god bit to right this but there has to be an easier and cheaper way to get the radio working again. Any help?

Here you go mate! It's a handy freeware program for generating Ford radio codes. The link contains 2 code generator programs, one for units with A,L and C serials and another program specific for the M series.

All you need is your serial number and you're sorted!

Oh wow, thanks for the swift reply! Sorry to be so clueless but where would I find the serial number for the radio? Do I have to take it out of the dash and if so is that a messy job requiring specialist tools?

Simply turn on the radio, hold down button 6 and press 2, the serial will then be shown!

You have to pull the keys outwards(left to left & right to right) while pulling the stereo towards you.;)

    hope that makes sense:o

Thanks for your quick reply mate ! However I found my code before reading your reply. I ve just removed the tape for the serial number and then I realized that the dealer wrote the code down next to it so i didn't need the software but I checked it it was true. Thanks again ! :)

Hold down 6 and press 2, it will give you the Serial No. It should be with MXXXXX (Where X is number)
