First time poster for the Motors forum.

I was looking at this as a substitute to investing in a campervan sometime. I have a Toyota Starlet 1.3l engine.

I was wondering how expensive would it be to get a hitch installed and would a car like a Starlet be powerful enough to pull this behind it?

It won't just come down to power, the 1.3 4EFE was a pretty grunty engine for a small car, the issue is weight of the trailer and weight of the towing vehicle.
Your car will have a spec for the amount of weight it can tow, braked and unbraked.
It will be on the VIN plate in the engine bay and the owners manual.

Cheers - there is a picture of a VW Beetle attached to the trailer in some pictures on Donedeal.ie. I presume if a car like that can pull it that mine would have no trouble. I wouldn't do anything based on presumptions before I check my facts but it's a good indicator. My sister had a VW and it wasn't as powerful as my car.

A quick google says the EP91 Starlet has a towing capacity of 600kg braked and 350kg unbraked.

anyway, back to the OP which talks about price. I have just put a tow bar onto my Corolla. I waited and kept an eye on scrap dealers and classifieds. I got a perfect secondhand towbar last month complete with electrics and all fittings for 50 quid. I just needed to clean it up and paint it. I fitted and wired it myself. If you want to save money I'd recommend the above. If money is no issue, you can expect to pay in or around 300 quid for a towbar fitted. Hope this helps.
