Hi i'm looking to buy a racing bike for the first time but don't really know much about this area and what type of bike to buy, i'm 5'7 and have a budget of €500, i know it's not alot but i don't want to splash out too much on my first bike..
Any advice that i can get will be much appreciated. :)

Can you use the biketowork scheme? If yes then you just doubled your budget if you are on the higher scale of tax.

That sounds perfect. No traffic on the roads. 10 miles on a road bike only takes 20/25 minutes depending on the terrain and the conditions. You can use the bike2work scheme so long as your employer agrees to operate the scheme and so long as you get the bike with the "intention" of using it to cycle to work.
