Who was the guy who use to read the results in the late 80s on RTE every Sunday Evening? I think he did some of the outdoor athletics broadcasting too. He is RIP quite awhile.

I think it was Sean Og O Callaghan, I'm not sure if he died.

Nope your thinking radio and he retired last month. It was Sports Stadium I was thinking of and it was presented by Brendan O'Reilly who died in 2001.

There used to be an old add on RTE for either RTE itself or for Cycling to work and it featured Don Coburn (Cockburn Whatever your choice) swinging through a few corners on his bike. I wonder is it still available.

Someone mentioned earlier Don that did the drawings. Don Conroy. As far as i know he still does art work and has featured on radio and tv in the last few years.

Don Conroy is indeed still alive. Or was up until late last year anyway, he was teaching an animation workshop at some festival in Dublin. Can't remember which now.

Does anyone remember Don Cockburn's appearance on the Live Mike?

Mike Murphy had a kind of celebrity Jim'll Fix It item where stars (by RTE standards) did stuff other than that for which they were famous.

Don had always wanted to be a stand-up comedian, and for one night only he was.

His delivery was exactly the same as when he read the news.

    Oh dear :)
