I must commend Fergal Keane on his honest and thought provoking documentary. This POOR ME/VICTIM mindset of some people in this country is pathetic. I think maybe these people have unresolved issues with their parents which they transfer onto the Irish/English conflict.

I agree with your posts ITT, but it's "I couldn't care less". Sorry - a personal irk of mine.
It's usually ignorant Americans that say "could care less", which is actually the opposite of what they mean; they'd realise if they took 1 second to actually think about the logic of the words they're using.

Your dead right, Its like really like kinda lame.

    LONG LIVE PRINCE PHILIP!

    Thanks.

WTF, do you work for him or something? Calm down. Wow anyone else here in the 'ra'?

His article in the UK Independent (which everyone is avoiding) shows his dancing to the tune of the Britsh far right.

Incidentally, Keane and what he has seen and made a lot of money out of,
:D... with his far greater authority, does not seem to have any degrees in Irish history, probably why the BBC were happy for him to present the feckin show!:)

the british far right? you mean the EDL? you are saying that fergal keane is dancing to the tune of the EDL? cos thats the british far right. its either that or you dont have a fukin clue what you are talking about.

did keane need a degree in history to write season of blood? did he need it to subsequently win the Orwell Prize (an award given to political writing). did he need one to understand that unnecessary hatred is completely poisonous to society and can lead to great evil? no?

the fact is that keane is a very open minded man and one of the best journalists this country has ever produced. I know you dont like his open mindedness as it tells you things you dont want to hear but again, you are going to have to get over this. hes exactly the right man to present this show and you are the exact sort of britain hating moron that needs to lose the chip on their shoulder and at least try to understand things on a broader perspective rather then hating britain due to a rose tinted extremely slanted education which told you to do so.

voices like yours need to be buried but before that, they need to be shown up for how god damn stupid they are. you and those like you are poisonous and this country doesnt need you.. the irony being that you think you are somehow doing your country proud. sickening

i know, verbally though i prefer 'i could care less'. i feel it loses strength with the 'nt when you say it. the sudden stop to the 'could' gives it a bit more bite, plus the irony of saying how you couldnt care and you couldnt care so much that you wont even say the phrase properly :p

the worst mistake to make when reviewing your own history is ignore your mistakes .
nothing wrong with casting a critical eye on the struggle for independence and the outcomes
to assume "our side" done no wrong or made no mistakes is blindfolding yourself from the truth

did the republic deliver what the ideal promised ?

There's way more ''far right'' ( whatever ) groups out there than the EDL. Many more people again who hold ''far right'' views in political parties, groups etc. There's still pressure being put on the public to accept a lot of stuff other countries would not IMO.

I can't be angry at RTE, not when they have given us classics like this:

Please the EDL are lightweights. Ignorant elements of the Conservative party (from some years ago though) , the British media, ehhh even the BNP maybe. Shows how much you know.

Wow, he wrote a book ! Now you should believe everything some guy who loves himself says, and fight for his honour because some subversive types LOL actually disagree with his stance and wants him to account for himself.

Irish hating moron. Lose the complex.

    Good for them.

I couldn't care less if they funded a programme of a British man wiping his arse with the Irish flag.

Lovely. just the type of citizen we need......

Y'know what I hate? When you're holding a cup of tea in your hand and you have to sneeze. It goes everywhere.

There's nothing as sickening as seeing Irish posters call other Irish posters "self haters" etc because they don't sing from the same hymn sheet.

Just when I'm missing the aul sod, you bastids remind me of the ugliness inherent in some parts of Irish society.

    :(

Do you even know what a facist is?

I didnt think much of the series, i thought it lacked important details, was very rushed. It started off with a somewhat dodgy agenda but never stuck to its brief.

In short messy. a bit like your ranting
