Texas police investigating reports of 30 bodies found in house near Houston

Police in Texas may have found a mass grave containing up to 30 dismembered bodies, possibly all children, according to local media reports.
But the Liberty County sheriff's office said there was no evidence yet that any bodies had been discovered.

Sheriff's department spokesman Rex Evans said the office had received an anonymous report on Tuesday that there were bodies in the house in rural Liberty County, around 70 miles east of Houston.
KPRC television, a local station, said 25 to 30 bodies were found by officers acting on a tip-off.
FBI spokeswoman Kim Barkhausen in Houston confirmed to the Reuters news agency that the FBI had been asked to help with an investigation, but would not elaborate.
Preliminary reports indicated the bodies are those of children, the TV station reported.
One local paper, the Cleveland Advocate, said the tipster told authorities dozens of dismembered bodies were buried at the scene.

It's been dropped totally from CNN's site (was running across the Breaking News ticker tape), and Sky have dropped it down to their second tier of stories..

Well it must be something, have you seen all the police there? I think they are taking it very seriously.
Course they could just pack up and go.
But typically the helicopter has just pee off to refuel, so can see nothing now.

    damn you ABC, damn you.

they still have a mention of it, though not ticker tape.

According to Capt. Rex Evans of the Liberty County Sheriff's Office, the office "received a call indicating there was a crime scene here ... Investigators have responded to the scene. We have found some circumstances that have raised some questions. And we have requested a search warrant. As soon as that warrant arrives here at the scene we will further our investigation."

If this happened in Iireland or the UK, jokes would get you automatically banned.

    Lovin' that hypocrisy

i have a funny felling that we here in ireland wouldn't mobilise an entire police unit (while letting the worlds press know) to go on a wild goose chase based on a hunch from some crazy person who claims to be a psychic

well I guess when they found blood at the scene they had to take it seriously.

Are you Psychic? Because their havent been any bodies found at-all.

Americans are gullible as ****. Easily led folk.

If you rang the gardai claiming you were a Psychic and that their were 30 bodies in a field they would laugh at you and go back to doing nothing.

''Bankston said he's owned the property for a little over three years. He admitted his son, Joe, is a convicted sex offender, but said he hasn't lived in Hardin for over a year.

"He lived with us for a little while, but had to go to Michigan about a year ago for a court appearance and never came back," Bankston said. "Last I heard, he was in Ohio."

So says the owner of the house.

Just saw now, twas indeed false report.

HARDIN, TX (KTRK) -- The Liberty County judge says nothing has been found at the Hardin-area home where someone claimed several bodies to be, and now a search is underway for the tipster who gave the false information.

Liberty County Judge Craig McNair said the sheriff's office received a Monday night call from a person who said many bodies were at the house on County Road 2048 at Duff Road, near Hardin. McNair says the caller claimed some of the bodies were dismembered and some children.

Have you not seen those late night real life cop shows, where someone brakes a red light and 78 squad cars chase them. Cops love camera's and any chance to stand around and drink coffee.

I think the US police only travel in packs. In New York I never saw fewer than 6 in a group, even in cars they seemed to travel in groups of no less than 6 cars.
