Let me just say that this fucking infuriates me when people tip the driver!!!!!! the staff at the fucking place have to take, process, make and prepare the order and the fucking driver (who usually sits on his/her arse waiting for the next delivery) is getting paid 1.50 per drop + 6eur per hour to deliver "the in-store staffs hard work" dont tip these fucking lazy scum! we the staff do 95% of the work!! why should they be rewarded? when you tip them it goes into their pocket! we, the people who prepared your order dont see a fucking cent!!! and not once in the year i have worked in pizza hut, have been given a single tip instore!!!

And just one other thing!! i worked in pizza hut for a year after getting a 2.1 honours degree in product design from UL. hadn't been able to get a job and i was left with no other option.. What pushes my button is the amount of self righteous arseholes out there who think its fine to yell! complain! and make somebody's life miserable after a minuscule fuck up! seriously its so fucking degrading when we are putting in our best to satisfy you as a customer. Relax and get of your high horse!

Can honestly say, I would not describe any of the delevery guys or girls I have encontered as scum. Any of them deserve the euro or two I gave them.

If I encountered any kind of attitude like your rant I wouldn't tip instore either.

Of course you wouldn't, because you were the one being conned into giving them a tip, of course they will be as nice as pie around you because you look vulnerable and naive?

The reason i call them "scum" is because the boast about their tip but refuse to share it with the people who put in the hard work!

No - They get paid already.

The people in the kitchen get a guaranteed wage. Delivery drivers don't.

Nope. Takes me 10 minutes to order the food and then takes me a good 20 minutes to give them directions to my house, which is only 2 miles away and they've delivered her God knows how many times.

I've never been conned into giving a tip. If I want to I will. If I dont, I wont.

yes the hard working underpaid staff do have a guaranteed wage, but drivers do make a guaranteed 6euro an hour while sitting on their arse + 1.50 per drop, usually the driver/s would take out 3or4 deliveries at a time at least twice an hour. if you add in the work to pay ratio, you can clearly see that the drivers are having a field day.

If my comments upset you, my ingenuity tells me that you are a delivery driver? am i wrong?

Have you given a tip to the guys who make your pizza instore? if so would you say you tip them more often than the drivers?

I always thought the tip was distributed with the rest, how can you make sure the driver just won't pocket the tip if I give it to him to share?

I used to give the bastards a couple of euro if they found the front door, if they didn't and they forced me out onto the street waving like some spa in The Late Late audience they got fook all

Depends on the weather. If i am ordering in it's because the weather is ****, so whoever delivers it gets a little extra for being willing to do for money what i won't do for food.

Hell to the NO, that's what the Delivery Charge is for!! :)

I've always paid the Delivery Charge though...

even when the driver is inept or rude or stands there Grinning-like-Gollum at the money I've given him, while he pretends he has no change in the bum-bag-full-of-coins strapped around his belly.

"I would love a system like the states where people worked for their money. Sooo much better service, manners and respect from both parties"[/QUOTE]

What? Where people in the service industry get paid rubbish wages, so that they need tips? Do you buy a pint (€4.50/€5) you want to be then obliged to pay a further sum so that the bar tender can live?

I think that I prefer when folks get a fair wage for their work, but for exceptional service, get a discretionary tip.

ARGHH. I hate this social pressure to tip, people should be tipped if the service is relatively cheap and the worker doesnt make minimum wage like in the states, fast food is so much cheaper so its not the same here!

Taxi drivers I understand they may not be making a great wage but i have no wage 4k a year how can you give me the evils because i need to get a taxi (if im running late for a job interview etc.)

and the worst... Toilet attendants do I really have to pay a euro for a tissue you're shoving into my hands

no its not the money, you pay for a service you pay extra 10-20% to the server in some cases but I am not willingly entering into the exchange of cash for services in the bathroom... sounds dodgy right.

I'm sorry but its so ridiculous the way some toilet attendants can treat their "customers" once I said no thank you to a tissue and she followed me called over the male one and they stood over me asking me why I wouldn't take a hand towel

I wouldn't give toilet attendants the steam off me piss (literally), I know how to wash and dry my own hands and I don't need your Lynx or aftershave, I put my own on before I came out

Toilet attendants really grind my gears, I can wash and dry my own darned hands, and no, I don't want some sweets that have been hanging 'round the bathroom for the last several hours. Thanks, I'll keep my money.

I have Dominos on the way, price comes to €16. I have a €20 note. What would you give the driver? I'm thinking €2

I think the delivery charge is mainly to go towards the petrol used to get to you , give or take a few pence

Sometimes. Had a lad from 4 Star once who asked for a tip. I told him to get to ****!

It depends on what the final total comes to, if it comes to an odd amount I will usually round up and say to keep the change. I don't do it too often though as I think takeaways are too expensive.

WTF has them speaking English got to do with their ability to deliver your food?

I always tip the Tesco delivery man when he drops off my groceries, my husband thinks I'm mad.

Anyone else tip the Tesco man?
