I saw a Heron on the long walk Friday. He was standing on a wall chilling out right beside me. Whats the story? Is he famous???

thanks vulcan for posting those fantastic photos!
its funny but i was fascinated for a while by a heron down that area about 9 years ago that used to stare and throw shapes at the heron sculpture thingy down by the bridge there.
the heron down on the long walk is pretty famous to a few people i know who live down there. he is very tame and is forever spotted standing on cars.

Yes - The folks who live on Long Walk look out for him, and have named him Arthur.

On the weekends, he likes to take his boat up the Corrib and get away from it all...

Must take a walk down there one of these days. As an aside, has anyone ever actually seen a heron catch anything ?? They stand there for hours, but never seem to eat !!
