Where to dispose of an Energy Saver Bulb (CFL)

    Do I bring them into the Council?

    I've two now (so much for lasting 8 years:rolleyes:) and I don't want to throw them out with the normal rubbish if I can avoid it.

    Contact the manufacturer if the bulbs haven't lasted.

    CFLs are covered by WEEE so they can be brought to local recycling centres.

    They contain Mercury (5 to 10mg) so throwing them out with normal household waste means they'll probably end up in Landfill where the Mercury could/will leech into the ground/water.

    Think of the kids............
