Hey, does anyone know who would stock DR Strings for Bass?
Searched a good few music shops in Dublin to no avail...anyone know anywhere? I know you can get em online, but I don't want to spend €15 for shipping...

You can get them from strings.ie

    http://www.strings.ie/categories/Strings/Bass-Guitar-Strings/DR-Bass-Guitar-Strings/

The shipping is nothing like 15.00! About 3.50 with normal post.

Save some money and get Rotosound Nexus strings instead. They should be slightly cheaper and in my experience, are better than the Black Beauties.

"Music Maker" stocks them, at least they did when I was in a few weeks ago. Give them a ring and see if they have what you want. I get my DR's ( Sunbeams) on Ebay...half the Dublin price including shipping.

I've tried the black beauties before on one of my basses and didn't like the sound at all. They looked great, but it just lacked mids with those strings. YMMV.

I have not tried the Black Beauties myself, but I have read reviews which said basically the same as yourself.

I love the DR Sunbeams though.

If I want something from Thomann, I just copy and paste the link and send it to the lads in Music Technology (www.musictechnology.ie) - they match Thomann's prices and there's no shipping costs - ya just pick up the stuff from them in town.
Their office is in that place where Loop studio is!

I want to make clear - that I do not work for them - I just order from them all the time and I've never been disapointed!
