Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It was buried under the town, looked goofy.

Rest assured, if the town didn't mess it up, it would still be there :P

I built a little palace type thing for myself. It still needs a lot of detail work, but I thought I'd point out some of the design I put into, to demonstrate why I need to get a life.

In the centre is a golden throne. I'm planning on putting statues along the sides.
    161509.png

When seated on the throne sunrise shines in through the window, between a giant "H".
    161510.png

At mid-day, the sun shines directly down on the throne.
    161511.png

And the sun sets behind it.
    161508.png

If I applied myself in the real world instead of pissing about with computer games, I'd be a lvl 40 Paladin by now!

I was always wondering what those spirally things were for. I dont think the middle part of the H was there when i saw them though.

The sad thing was, they started off as just two towers with a cart track going down around each, like a roller coarster. I'd climb to the top and cart down and then climb up again. It's the simple things that keep me happy.

Haha. The club needs some redstone torches to add to the seediness.
Maybe a red and black chequered wool stage too.

I'm working away on my own little Rivendale. It's still a rough work in progress, but you get the general idea. Not sure about the cobblestone. I might change it to sandstone at a later date.

A little something I'm working on in the back country:

    Before

    After

There's going to be a town under there, about 3x the visible size and going down to bedrock.

Reposted here from the main thread, forgot about this thread

I'll update this with a pic when I get home. I have leveled some terrain and built more bridges, but I need ideas for buildings. What would a decent size mountain town have?

Also, the sections you see above are all near the build limit, so I need ideas for a castle / manor of maximum 6 blocks high.

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 18,377 Mod ✭✭✭✭Solitaire

    Hmm...

    Housing
    Garrison
    Watchtowers
    Signal fires
Construction/repair crews and their support structures
Pubs! Well... inns and taverns anyway
Shops and their respective crafting workshops - carpenter, mason, smithy, weaver, victualler, farm/food/supplies
Adventurer's shop with leather armor, tools, bows, arrows etc.
Some green areas both open and lightly wooded
    ARENA!
Inside the mountain(s) - mines, foundries, smelters, Obsidian Forge with complimentary lava lake

As for the castle... try a walkway going to a suspended castle with only the main reception hall and throne-room at "ground" level and the bulk of the castle suspended below hanging down beneath it!

    Bit of an update.

    mfXNul.jpg

Still planning out the roads before I build anything, though I have a watchtower and a lighthouse now.
Castle will be top left with a garden on the land in front.

That glowstone filled extension to the original build will be a building / temple of some sort. Gotta keep it under 6 blocks high. The little extension behind is the lighthouse.

The bit before the fork in the road is a bridge, and a tall one. Not sure what style to go for yet.

Not really visible from that angle but elevation is extreme. I'm trying to build a road towards the right, circle up and then back left, to get to the other mountain range.
