Odeon/UCI re-acquires UCI Cinemas in Ireland

    Odeon/UCI Cinemas have bought back the UCI Cinemas chain in the Republic of Ireland they sold in 2006 to Entertainment Enterprises (who are the company behind Leisureplex and hold the Irish franchises for TGI Fridays and Hard Rock Cafe).

    They've also acquired Storm Cinemas, which they had been managing since EEL bought it from the previous owners.

    Not sure if it'll make any real difference, the insecessant promotion of other EEL properties in UCI cinemas might cease...

    That promotion was there long before they purchased them.
    The close proximity of the Leisureplexes to UCI cinemas pretty much guarantees this.
