    Such sad news :(

The number of people on Boards saying they've been drunkenly harassed by her (myself included) is something else, you have to smile at that :) RIP Roe xx

We met a few times through Mikado and around the NUIM Campus. She never really took that smile off her face, I was sure it was there permanently. Always up for the craic, and just so full of enthusiasm for anything, including the travelling.

RIP Roe, you will be missed :(

I never got to meet Roz and it's something I always wanted to do coz she was so awesome whenever we talked on boards or on facebook. I always remember as a memebr of the boardsie hotties. Just another random boards convo. She was great though.

My sincere thoughts are with all her family and friends.
an amazing girl taken far, far too young

Met Roz at a few boards beers and around Maynooth on occasion. She was wonderful, always bright and bubbly.

    You'll be missed Ro.

Like many of you, the first time I had contact with Roisin was here on boards. It was way back when in 2005 when we sat the Junior Cert. We campaigned for the JC board along with others and together, we got one (which is still here today :) ). I had frequent contact with her, but over the following two years, nothing considered important.

The first time I met Roe was actually in our induction for Arts. She said her name was Roisin, and I thought nothing more of it. Spotted her in our first sociology lectures and again, just really thought she was a friendly girl.

It was about a month or two in, a Roisin popped up on my MSN messenger list. I was thinking "When did I ever add a Roisin on this?" and to this day, I cannot remember how. I popped up and asked her who this was, and she said she was "Rozabeez". I couldn't remember adding her, but knew instantly who she was. We got talking, and eventually, we asked each other were we were in our lives.

We simply figured out we were actually classmates and had no idea we were both online friends. It was such a funny event meeting her after that. She shouted aloud over her friends "That's JBoyle4eva from boards!". After that, I'd always see her either in a sociology lecture or out on campus, either in the SU or elsewhere. No matter what, Roisin was a hugely optimistic and happy person.

One of my favorite memories of her is meeting her on her birthday on what was a normal day for me in The Roost. I was getting food in there and it was a pretty miserable December day outside. But inside was her and her friends, having the time of their lives celebrating her birthday. She was merry, happy and full of life.

    I think that's why I'll miss her.

Repose en paix mon amie xx

"Lo! some we loved, the loveliest and best
That Time and Fate of all their Vintage prest,
Have drunk their Cup a Round or two before,
And one by one crept silently to Rest."

Such a sparkling, wonderful lady. She brought everyone together for some amazing times, and was the life of the party. I'll miss your hugs and your smiles my dear. xxx

I arrived in Maynooth (and Boards) too late to know her, but for some reason I feel really upset from this. Maybe because she was so young, but I think moreso from the messages here, it's clear what a lovely person she was who didn't deserve to be taken. Wish I could have gotten to know her, R.I.P.

I toyed with the idea of closing Ro's epic thread, mainly because I don't think anyone wanted to casually discuss a general topic after people posting condolences (which is completely understandable). So, I've merged some posts from the general discussion thread to this one.

Personally, I'd love to keep it open. I hate the idea of it falling through the pages of the NUIM forum (I don't think it's ever left the first page!). I read through a few of Ro's posts last night, and I hope that leaving it open will encourage newcomers and oldies alike to do the same and be reminded of a what an amazing person Ro was.

It's just my opinion though, and if anyone has any problems with it please don't hesitate to PM me.

Personally I think leaving it open is the greatest memorial this forum could have for her

To me, she will always be pirate girl. To a life that was short but not short-lived. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

    Darling

You might forget the exact sound of her voice
Or how her face looked when sleeping.
You might forget the sound of her quiet weeping
Curled into the shape of a half moon,

When smaller than her self, she seemed already to be leaving
Before she left, when the blossom was on the trees
And the sun was out, and all seemed good in the world.
I held her hand and sang a song from when I was a girl -

Heil Ya Ho Boys, Let her go Boys
And when I stopped singing she had slipped away,
Already a slip of a girl again, skipping off,
Her heart light, her face almost smiling.

And what I didn't know or couldn't see then
Was that she hadn't really gone.
The dead don't go till you do, loved ones.
The dead are still here holding our hands.

Sitting here reading through all these amazing memories of Ro is heart-breaking. I knew Ro through friends in Leixlip and like many here, I instantly realised what a nice girl she was. Meeting her on boards, it never clicked until one day at our friends house we realised. She was always smiling, I don't think I ever saw her sad. I remember standing at Bewleys just over a year ago while she told me all about her plans to go away to travel and I was so jealous but delighted she was getting the chance to do something I don't think I would ever be able to do.

I wasn't terribly close to her but the loss is just so devastating. I miss her already, my friends are struggling how to cope without her, it's just so upsetting.

I'm rambling so I'll wrap up. Thank you for every single memory that all of us had with you, friends for years or minutes, everyone you met miss you already. Sleep well Roisin, xxxxx

I posted on the thread in after hours, I don't normally post on Boards, Roe was the one who made me join but then I always just forgot... but once I heard about all the nice things people were saying about one of my beast friends I had to come on and take a look. I just want to thank you all for the wonderful things you are saying about her, she was an amazing person and the best friend anyone could ever ask her, I am so lucky to have every known her. I have so many wonderful and happy memories all because of her.

Someday we shall meet again, and I will be looking forward to that day.

Also for anyone who would like to know there is an article in page 8 of The Star newspaper today.

I only started getting into Boards from reading the Nuim forum. Since before christmas I've sifted through thread after thread because I'm heading to Maynooth next year. As I read I noticed the recurring poster and ever so helpful Rozabeez. I never knew her. I never even PMed her. But her personality seems to jump from her posts. She seems like such a nice person and I feel sorry that I will never get to know her. R.I.P.

Never met her but she seemed like a wonderful, bubbly, and generally a loving person.

Her family and friends are in my prayers and i'll light a candle in Lough Derg in her memory from all the members on Boards.

    May she rest in peace.
