Signed off online, not received final JSA payment

I was on JSA and I signed off via the welfare website's online sign off facility on 7 May as I was starting a new job on 9 May. Once I completed the online form it said something like if there was any outstanding payments due I would receive a cheque in the post.

Obviously as I had started work on the Monday I was unable to collect my final JSA payment from the post office on the Tuesday. I estimate that I would have been due 4 days payment for the previous Wed, Thur, Fri and Sat. I got the impression signing off online that I would be issued with a cheque for this payment and after 3 weeks I have received nothing. How long does it take them to issue this cheque?

Have you checked since with the post office.

when you signed off on May 7th, your payment had already gone to the post office paying you up to May 10th. The Social Welfare Office have to wait for the post office to do their returns before they can issue a cheque. This will take at least 3 weeks, maybe more.
You could ring your office and ask has a cheque been issued yet.
