A police officer has been (rightly) jailed this week in the UK after he had sex on duty with a woman he first met while answering a 999 call

The Telegraph provides the full article, with some summary below

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/3398001/Police-officer-jailed-over-sex-on-duty-with-woman-he-met-on-999-call.html
Pc Gary Bayldon, 48, who was married at the time, regularly visited Donna Cacutt for sex at her home on the Isle of Wight when he was supposed to be on the beat.

He called the visits his "meal breaks" and kept his police radio on throughout so he could "perform his duties" at the same time, Kingston Crown Court in London heard.

The officer, who has resigned, also propositioned a second woman, Suzanne Dunkling, in the back of his police van after arresting her in connection with a domestic incident.

Bayldon told her she was "gorgeous", stroked her hand while taking her fingerprints and kissed her when he dropped her home in the police van.
Barry Gregory, prosecuting, said: "They started seeing each other on a regular basis but never when he was off duty, always when he was on duty on late shifts. She would make him dinner at her house and they would often have sex afterwards."

When the relationship began to break down in 2005 Bayldon again abused his job.
He was also accused of befriending another woman and, while on duty, giving her money to buy lingerie to wear for him, and taking her to the woods and asking her to perform a sex act on him.

It was also claimed that he propositioned a woman before arresting her after responding to a call for assistance.

Jailed for consensual sex. I suspect there is more to this story than reported.

Policemen showing their truncheons to the ladys for sexual favours is still news today ?

    Fired yes. But jailed??

I doubt he was jailed for having sex on the clock. Maybe for gross misconduct in the police - seems like it'd be very serious if something was going down and he was off popping your one.

    Still... legend!!

What he does on his lunch break is his own business

A very poorly written article I must say - it doesn't specify the charges he was convicted of.
Almost certainly he was charged and convicted of '' Misconduct in a Public Office '' , this is a serious ( and relatively new ) offence in the UK .

It's all been a misunderstanding, a bunch of women just said that the officer came to their homes and took down their particulars.

He was on duty, and this was a misuse of his position, as well as something which he did time and time again with a multitude of different women - wasn't isolated, and to cap it all, he was married. Also Isle of Wight, small community, so people talk.

They need a branch of Copper Face Jacks to prevent this sort of frustration for the bobby on the beat.

I'm not defending him, Im just saying there is more to this story.

Apart from the fact he was on duty, nothing else he did, as far as the article tells us, was illegal. Which means there must be more to this story.

He was riding different burdz on his lunch break!

Was he stupid to be at this in a small community where he was bound to be caught? Yes!

Should he be sacked for this? No - not if he was on a valid break!

Should he be jailed for this? Absolutely not!

So one consenting adult has been jailed for having sex with another consenting adult on his lunch breaks?

Are Police Officers not allowed physical relationships now? Regardless of how they met, surely what they do in their own beds and who they do it with is their own business?
