Btw I don't find the camera that awful, at least on mine. I guess I expect ****ty cameras on phones. I like the kind of effect it does when it takes photos in the dark. They're blurry but not ugly like my last phone. I imagine it can take decent photos in daylight, will try today.

You can run CM on Gen1 phones using Kallt_Kaffe's converter

I'll do it at some stage, at the moment I don't want to go through all that again plus I'd have a lot of apps to reinstall already and the market doesn't like you doing that.

I just got a call form my Dad and noticed it's very muddy. It could be his phone maybe but is there anything I can do to tweak global EQ on 2.2 or do I need 2.3? Or could some other option be causing this

I still haven't updates to Swedish spring yet because I'm stuck in a " to return or not to return" loop.

I have two questions though...

When I go to the APN section to change it in the phone I just get a blank black screen. Will this change if I install a rom on it?

I know flash doesn't work on the phone but the TED app for instance plays very good streaming video. Are there other sites or apps that stream video that stream video we can watch on the blade?

RTE News, White House app, Onion News app, .. basically every good news channel had one.. Fox have one too

I have a problem guys

I installed Swedish Spring there and now when I turn on my wifi it says 'unable to scan for networks'.

Any ideas? Please.

It worked before I restored the settings and apps and now it doesn't.

Got my SF today from the brother in London. Unlocked it and put on Swedish spring.

Loving the phone so far (typing on it now) but have noticed one little annoying thing so far. I find that a lot of apps don't have the option of moving to SD card where all my apps did on my last phone Xperia X8 running 2.3.4 CM Rom. Is this a bug in SS or normal?
I've a lot less apps than the X8 but am down to 105mb already.

Not a lot of space for apps on the dock either, just 3.

Other than these little annoyances that I can get over, really happy :-)

You can change partition sizes by TPT (TPT to Gen2), which will give you a bigger /Data partition

You can change the launcher

The forced A2SD is a CM thing (I run it), but there are apps on Market for that too

Get Mod Install Location, free from Market....

You can choose Auto, External(SD) or Phone as default location for Apps....choose External to store Apps on SD Card....

If you have App2SD, you will be prompted to move App after installation.....

Some Apps cannot be moved, and some will move, but will have to be moved back to Phone, it will become obvious.

I have moved almost all Apps sucessfully, including FaceBook...there will be stuff still on Phone to allow Apps to work....this is normal!!!

So i've been using the Modaco Custom ROM since i first got the phone. Now i want to upgrade to Swedish Spring.

I have Clockwork 2.5.1.8 - is that sufficient for the upgrade?

Also wondering if i need to wipe the phone; i don't see any mention of it on the Swedish Spring ROM page?

Just want to make sure i don't mess the phone up

after twistiong my arm many moons ago on this phone I have finally got it in my hands 3 months later, wow! even as it is with all the orangeware installed I like it.

Got it in argos 109 gbp. No questions asked and no problems getting it. If anyone wants to go that route and is unsure about buying in the north.
I reserved it the night before, when I called to make sure they had it in stock.....

Now to read back thru all the 96 pages of this thread to find out how to unlock and root etc...
I've never done anything like this before, so i'm just going to take my time in doing it.
and if anyone has any reservations about this phone all I can say is don't.

Just installed Swedish Spring there on Saturday, I like some parts of it and other parts I'd rather 2.1. Being able to save apps onto the sd card though is the biggy.

Any good ways to save battery on Swedish Spring? I only got just over a day there with not a lot of use.

Its easy to get the phone the way you like it, Get a better keyboard like swiftkey, then get handcent for sms (make sure to turn off notifications in the stock messaging app or you'll get notified twice). The ASOP contacts is a much better dialler and contacts app, install it with CWM

Thanks very much, I'll check those out.

What other advantages does 2.2 have over 2.1? I know 2.2 supports flash but it doesn't work on the Blade does it? The wifi hotspot thing is good but I only have 500mb of data a month so it would be gone in a flash if I used the hotspot all the time.

So I'm trying to update to Swedish Spring but I've run into a small issue when installing clockwork recovery.
I am here :

Troubleshooting

If you get the following error message…

"The application Recovery Manager (process com.podtwo.RecoveryManager) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

…make sure you have rooted your phone. Instructions on how to root can be found on the previous page.

If you have already rooted your phone, root it again. Then from the app list on your phone, go to Settings -> Manage Applications -> Recovery Manager -> Clear data -> OK. Now turn off your phone and turn it on again. Launch Recovery Manager from the app list on your phone and follow from Step 32.

Basically I got that error message so I rerooted the phone and followed the steps to open Recovery Manager. It says in the instructions there should be a "clear data" option but there's just "clear cache" and "uninstall application data". So I've been hit by a case of the "what to do?"s. Which do I click?

It's probably a simple thing but I'm really eager not to screw it up so I am asking the experts. Thanks for any help.

is there an app to monitor internet usage and someway to cap the download limit, im on meteor so have 50mb a day id like an app were i can set it at 50 then when i reach it it will either cut me off or notify me
