Hi I applied to NUI Maynooth as a mature for community and youth as my first choice. Currently in that horrible limbo of waiting to hear yes or no. I'm horribly impatient but I'm guessing its a no as its taking so long (had my interview the 19th of April). Does anyone have any experience of how long it usually takes to hear from Maynooth?:confused: Really Really hope I get in umm if I do see you all there!

"I live in Arklow so gotta get two trains up"

Could be worse, I'm from Tralee so the train to Cork, switch at Mallow arrive in Heuston 4 hours later, LUAS to Connolly and then another 40mins on the train from Connolly to Maynooth! But hey I'm that far away from my parents :D

Looking forward to next year, but kinda nervous since I know NOBODY  haha :D

Well I won't be going home at the weekends, but I don't really mind. Dublin is nearby and I know a few going there if the place dies out at the weekend :) so my only trips home will probabaly be mid term, christmas and easter :D and hi Niamh and Mark! I know 2 people!

I've only stayed up there a few weekends, it tends to be unbelievably quiet in Maynooth once the college week's over! :D

It took almost six weeks for them to get back to me, as far as I remember. And then it wasn't exactly a Yes/No. I was told I had to sit an essay writing course and my entrance was dependent on how I did on that. Gotta say... doing that course was the best thing I ever did. But anyway... don't be worrying too much just yet. It takes time.

Hey all, I'm coming to Maynooth in september.

Hopefully Psychology/Sociology/English through Arts or pure Psychology if I get the points.

I'm worried because I know no one going to NUIM.

Just out of curiosity is anyone here from Leixlip?

There is no one section on campus accommodation that 1st years end up in. You tend to be divided between the three quite evenly I think :)

Hey guys, heading to Maynooth myself next year. Hoping to get Psychology through science or maybe Biological and Biomedical science or Arts... haven't really decided fully yet  thank god for change of mind forms.

I've put Village down for my campus accommodation, apparantly it's the best craic and better parties!

If we don't get campus we should all get a house... Boards-House. :p

    Hey there

Heading to Maynooth myself next year, as a mature student (well, im 23 heh!) and looking forward to it :D
Im house-sharing with some friends of mine in Dublin (on the Maynooth train line) and I think the commutes doable so im sticking where I am for first year and I'll see how it goes; hoping this doesn't take away from the opportunity to get to know people, but I hope for the best!

I've been informed that i'm going to be offered a place on the Business and Management Degree course which is the one I wanted so i'm happy out. Best of luck to all, I hope you get the places you'd like and I may see some of you in September ;)
