hey lidl offering a few bike deals if you need.

Pity they are not doing the workstands any more. I've been keeping an eye out for them for the last year. I missed the Aldi ones last year.

Lidl had workstands last August. How do you now they won't be selling them again this coming August?

the saddle bag is ok, theyre quite roomy so you'll fit a lot in there and they come with a repair kit and multi-tool.

Was just wondering about the chain cleaning kit myself. At 6 euro though it's hard to go badly wrong.

Looks like there's a choice of a tool bag:

I don't see a chain tool in either (though I'm not surprised given the price).

From what I've used, the multi-tool with the bag looks the same as the one I have: definately worth the money and the bag is good. Chain cleaning kit: mine broke very easily, could be a once off so the jury is out. Gloves: If they're the same as the ones I have, they're my prefered glove, definately worth the money.

Chain cleaning kit is great - friend of mine has one and I was really impressed. I will be definitely picking up one.

Haven't used the chain cleaning kit but I recognise the brand (Crivit) as I got the same branded Lidl wetsuit last year and its great quality

Popped in for a look, I got the chain cleaner and they seem solid out. The gloves however are bad quality, I tried on three pairs. The stitching in two came apart and the third was ripped before I put them on. They look relatively nice but I don't think they would stand up to regular use. They are not like any glove I have seen Lidl sell before which were always durable.

Nice croissants though:)

Was in Lidl this morning and I agree with what people have already said.
The chain cleaning kit looked decent enough so I got one.
The gloves don't look great at all, they are meant to be "mountain bike" gloves. Not the usual type that they have in Lidl/Aldi.

Punnet of raspberries are only €0.99, and the danish pastries are damn good

Anybody know what the stock levels are like in the Moore Street store?

I was hoping to pick up the Lights, and small repair kit, but don't want to waste my lunchtime heading over there if there is nothing to be had.

Lidl stores now have a bakery section (obviously not all stores though!), they have the usual assortment of breads, pastries etc. The ovens are located right there in the aisle so you can see everything being baked and the smell is fantastic.

(sorry, off topic I know!)

Went to Lidl in Bandon this morning, they had no gloves or the socks:mad:, got a jacket there. Then went to Lidl in Clonakilty(on the way to the inlaws) they had the gloves but still no sock:(.

poor enough that they advertise all the range but dont have the stuff in all the stores:rolleyes:

PS: dont know what 'good' gloves are like, so these will do as a starter pair

Just back from LIDL in Walkinstown Ave, Crumlin. Loads of gear left. I went specifically for the chain cleaning kit and there was about 40/50 of them left.

The fingerless gloves seemed ok to my noobish hands so I got a pair. Got the chain cleaner, small tool set, gel saddle cover for the missus and jacket.

That was in the balbriggan one. They seemed to have everything in stock and reasonable levels of it when I was there.

I also treated myself and the missus to danish, apple turnover and pain au chocolat between us. Yum yum yum yum yum. Delicioso!
