Will this be 12 hours of StarCraft 2, or will the SC2 be ending earlier than 10am?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,812 ✭✭✭IRL_Sinister

You will have the centre reserved for 12 hours. What you do in that time is totally up to you, although the main purpose is SC2.

What I mean is, will there be SC2 tournaments run for the 12 hours? Or will the tournys stop being run at some earlier point?

The main tournament we are running will be the 1v1. the last time we had a lan, the 1v1 ended around 8am as far as i remember.

This time, I plan to have it end a lot earlier.

Aye, of course. That's kind of the point. Last time I played WC3 for the first hour while the internet got used to 40 people spamming BNet but after that I played SC2 the rest of the time watching the winner bracket players during the Tournament. For the final hour some of us went upstairs and basically just talked Starcraft until we were, literally, told to leave :P

Although I'm not going don't make the mistake of not seeding... no point of one of the best players going through the entire loser bracket because he played another one of the favorites!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,824 ✭✭✭RoyalMarine

since there has been a LONG time since the last lan, we have no way of knowing who should be seeded where. but I have a nice system working now, that from the end of this lan, and other leagues that we run during the year, we will be able to provide seeding for players in the future.

If players want, there is counter strike installed on all the computers available, and if i remember, age of empires was too, but not sure if it was working or not :/

I can throw a definitely-not-cracked version of AOE2 on a usb key, dunno if the staff would mind people using it on their machines though.

Could I make a polite objection to Scrap Station being the final map? :)

yeah what would you suggest for the final map?

I need a good map when for when I play khazadea in the finals.

Metalopolis. Any map with some island base is bollocks.

In my opinion the most balanced maps would be:

    Xel Naga
    Terminus Re
    Tal'Darim Altar
    Crevasse
Shattered Temple (if no close pos)
    Metalopolis (if no close pos)

Any of those would be good I think.

    Why no SP?

    Forgot about it, good point.

How about setting up a new threads on Boards.ie and make all players upload replays directly onto that thread. That way it's available to everyone and you'll have an easy way of crossing off who has uploaded and who hasn't?

    Just a suggestion.

Regarding 3v3 monobattles. Is the Archon not a possibility for unit to chose, seeing as it requires a previous unit, or do you just chose DTs and Archons are incorporated under that choice?

Don't think it's called Pravda anymore, just for the record.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,095 ✭✭✭Columc

im presuming Round 5(finals upper bracket if its a Ro32 bracket)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,812 ✭✭✭IRL_Sinister

Crevasse is far from balanced (due to the Rich Gas on certain versions of the map). I wouldn't suggest that one, personally (although it favors Terran!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 162 ✭✭Khazidhea

For monobattles if you want archons, you say archons. But you dont go around with DTs killing stuff of HTs storming. Just morph them instantly.

Also protoss can build observers, zergs can build overseers - just for detection. Again you cant build mass oveerseers and contaminate everything. If you wanna do that - you can only build overseers.

What about warp prisms? Drop ships for mech? Overlord ventral sac?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 162 ✭✭Khazidhea

Nah I do not think its allowed.

Can you load up your ally units? Idk ... I have played like 20 team games only.
If not pretty much no drops. But its not the point.
People are going for builds that have no AA and still manage to win against air compositions :D Go check Day9, he did a ton of those.

I thought you could load up allied units. Think I did it once, or at least I tried. Not much fun for any person to just go Warp prism :P
