    Warning.
This thread will contain spoilers of the episode of the simpsons that aired in the US on 22nd May 2011. If you dont want things to be spoiled. Do not read on.

.... still wanna read on? :)
Ok, in the latest espisode of the simpsons edna krabappel and ned flanders hook up and date. It soon comes to Ned's attention about Edna's 'past' - her high list of sexual partners. Ned is unsure what to do ... continue with her or not? The episode ends with marge and homer asking the viewers to decide weather ned and edna should be a couple or break up. Viewers choice :)

They ask viewers to vote at thesimpsons.com

    So are you Pro Nedna?
    Or No-Nedna?

    thoughts?
its similiar to "who shot mister burns" back in the day where no one knows the outcome.

So the notion of creative writing is going further down the toilet with the Simpsons writing team.

The Simpsons has been terrible since season 7 and it's testament to that that I just DON'T CARE ANYMORE about the characters jumping the shark.

try multiplying that by 3 or 4 and you've got a more realistic answer

    It really isn't.

The Simpsons was one of the greatest shows of all time... up until the mid-90's.

The brilliance of the writing in those first 6/7 series bears no resemblence to the shambolic, gimmicky and patently unfunny **** thats been churned since then.

It's a shame they sullied the name of such a great show by carrying on for so long

If Groening had pulled the plug on the show after season 7 - maybe 9 at a stretch - I'd argue that it would have been a strong contender for one of the greatest comedies of all time. Instead it just pissed away it's reputation bit by bit with every subsequent season. Seriously, how much money does the man need. It really is the embodiment of the law of diminishing returns. I've complete indifference to the show now, which is sad because it was genuinely brilliant. The moral of all of this... I like stories.

edit. If you're a fan of the early years, particularly when Conan O'Brien was the showrunner, I'd recommend checking out John Swartzwelder's books.

Such a lame, forced, lazy attempt at trying to create a new "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" style event.

Isn't it sad that there's now many more crap episodes of the Simpsons than good ones?

The Simpson's and Scrubs, two of my favourite shows a few years ago. Now I'd rather have a tramp throw up on my shoes than watch the latest episode.

And if I had bothered to not hit End right away I'd have seen what you were "trying" to hide...

    use spoiler tags...
then [/spoiler.] without the fullstop after that last "r" in spoiler.

Sounds like another amazing episode from one of the most stretched out shows in history.

Try the last 10 years to get even close.

FYI Matt Groening is today worth $500million . It's clear he doesn't care about this show and is just using it as a cashcow or he would have pulled the plug on it or at least disassociated himself from its production years ago.

It's funny that the thing that made him rich and popular is now such a focus for resentment. Further, it's destroying the shows legacy and making people forget it was once classic television. Ironically I can't think of anyone who still watches new eps it beggers belief that it's still running. Who still watches this crap?

It's getting bad when the writers can't even decide the outcome to their own storylines.
