Seeing as it seems to be all food threads today (i'm ****in starvin by the way!) i decided to throw another one into the pot.

What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten? Knowingly or not.

Mine was in Vietnam (Baby). We were doing the Ho Chi Min trail on motorbike and the gtour uy brought us to local places for food. I wont call them resteraunts cause it was usually someones sitting room that was converted into a make shift dining room.

Anywho, we were eating our starter one day and the guide was raving bout how nice it was, look liked veg soup to me. He then went up to the pot on the burner and pulled something out. He came down to me all smiles and said how tasty this was and i'd love it, so i took it into my bowl, it looked kinda black and after a few mins i threw it back. Tasted wierd, slimey but eggy too! After i got it down i finally thought to ask wtf it was. CHICKEN EMBRYO SOUP!!! (Hen eggs incubated for a 10 days)!

Stomach did a few summersaults, and i learned to ask first from then onwards, which was handy when we got to the sun dried insects...

    Totally valid thread!! :)

I've not been very adventurous food-wise, but I did eat deep fried bananas in Thailand. Surprisingly nice! And - half healthy. Don't know about the other half though...

Yup same here. If you got one that incubated a bit too long you got some crunchy bones as well

Try the food in Fox River State Pennitentary. I have! I have prison break themed candlelight suppers where you come dressed as your faveourite prison break character and I cook food from Fox River / Sona / other things from Prison Break.

Crocodile at a friend's BBQ. They had gone to a shop that sells very out there foods.

It was horrendous. It had the consistancy of fish but tasted like dry chicken. Horrid!

Had dog in Sri Lanka a few years back and pad pad - that's scrap food collected from restaurants all mixed up together and re-cooked, it was ok until I found out what It was !

It does taste nice though.. that's why people eat them!.. Well local people anyway.. I'd imagine tourists mostly do it just for the experience

Kangaroo - Centrepoint tower restaurant, Sydney :)

Was years and years ago and I remember quite liking it. It has a rich flavour so you don't eat big steaks of it.

Also once had game terrine as a starter. Bloody horrid.

    Baby mouse.
One of the girls was feeding her snake and it wouldn't eat the mouse so they brained it and it still wouldn't bite so me being drunk decided I'd eat it to show the snake how yummy they are. Didn't chew so got no taste.

Eeeeh - that looks even worse! I'd say it tastes nice - chicken, yum; egg, yum. But, I believe you can feel the little baby bones crunching in your mouth. That would be enough to put me off. Bad enough that prawns (which I love) are like eating fingers.
