What do you really think of transexuals?

What do you think of them?
Seems to be a lot of political correctness on boards, but honestly beyond all that, what do you genuinely think of them.
If your son came home and told you he was getting a sex change, how would you feel? I for one would be absolutely humiliated and disgusted, the whole thing is just wrong in my eyes

A bit on the ungrateful side. Not happy with what they have

"Omg I'm a woman stuck inside in a man's body!" Srsly, get over yourself

I still wouldn't want to see them deprived of getting a sex change or whatever if thats what they so badly want to do. but why they'd want to is beyond me

Gender Identity Disorder is a serious topic and not 'disgusting'.

Its all a bit weird and creepy to me if I'm perfectly honest.

    Wouldn't wish it on anyone

Why is it wrong? If your gonna say "its not the way nature intended ya to be" I'm pretty sure nature didnt intend for any of this **** to happen. It turned around one day and seen us clowns climbing down from the trees and said "this is gonna end badly" and so it did.

I'd advise em to go seek the correct people to talk to and make sure it is what they really wanted to do, you can't just wander into a surgeon and go "hoi, see these boys? chop em!". It's a very lengthy process involving lots and lots of paper work, talking with psychologists, hormone replacement therapy etc etc before you even go for surgery. I think you also have to live as your chosen sex for at least a year also.

No doubt it'd be a shock, but I don't think I'd be ashamed of them.

I've no problem with someones choice to go ahead with, however how do they then fit in to society where the choice is normally male or female there is no transexual option this could proove a problem when interacting with originally born males and females who may have a problem with it. To be politically correct and respect the wishes of all there may need in future need to be choices of male, female, now a male was a female, now a female was a male so people will have no problem in changing rooms or toilets.

Along with all the other conditions, allergies and psychological disorders that have been invented in the past number of years

I'm sure there are one or two people who you could almost say legitimately have one of these conditions, the rest are jumping on the bandwagon

I really think it is a shame that we still live in such a narrow-minded world that we can't understand that each of us is created uniquely and that there are many things about the human body that we will never fully understand.

I don't think it is a superficial choice made on a whim; it certainly isn't, "gee, I'm bored with my penis, I think I am going to cut it off and tell all my friends and family that I am female now".

People used to have that attitude about gay people many years ago and now society has changed. To be honest a few months ago I hadn't a clue about transsexuals but if you take the time out to educate yourself you'll see that it's no biggie, trans people are just like you and I except they were born in the wrong body.

OP needs to get a grip.

It's their own bodies, they can do what they like. Why should it bother you in the slightest?

If my child wanted one It would be quite strange but if it made them feel happy and content in their own skin then I would support them 100%. People can't help how they feel, nothing wrong with it in my eyes.
As long as they're not hurting others why care?

I have no issue with them. I think they are incredibly brave to make a decision like that and i admire them.

I wonder if some are just lads who find it hard to get a roide and want to cross over to the other side for that reason

there is also a disproportionate amount of them crossing over from male to female which bothers me because it's like their deserting my gender, as if there is something wrong with being a man

Wasn't there a thread titled: 'What do you really think of Gay people?' many moons back, which was then parodied to death?

Well, it/they seem to have disappeared, as I can't seem to find them now.

It's an issue for some people, and I guess I'll get slated for this, because there would be the 'fear' that one might inadvertently get romantically involved with someone who you have been lead to believe was born a woman.
