But we shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush.

It's up to true "republicans" to condemn the bomb scares, threats and behaviour seen today and then we'll be able to see which is which.
So who or what is a "true" republican then Liam?

Says it all.

You people can't seriously be suggesting that ALL Republicans are scumbags? Why, that's just as ignorant as those who were throwing projectiles today in Dublin city center.

They want to keep everyone in their nice little box, truth is they are as bad as the idiots throwing objects at the guards today.

No just the ones who have complete disregard for the will of the Irish people and the rule of law in this country.

Just those ones.

The ones who think they're fighting for 'the cause' when they phone in hoax bomb warnings.

People can say some republicans are scumbags the same way every scumbag that lives in my area are free staters. The free staters that live around me are murderers. Idk any republicans that have murdered people for no reason, and my family are very close friends with members of sinn fein. My family are quiet people, not scumbags. My uncle was murdered, for trying to deactivate a bomb. he managed to deactivate it and saved ALOT of people incl gerry adams. I'm proud of who I am. I am a republican. And I am NOT a murderer, and certainly not a scumbag.
Let the free staters say what they want. We will have our day.

Quite proud to be Irish today, seeing the Queen of England bow to our honored dead and acknowledging the past.

How do you know they are knackerish scumbags? Just asking.

How do you know they're not?? probably the fact they started throwing stuff at the guards! Probably also the fact that they look like knackerish scumbags!
Why can they not wear suits or something, then people wouldn't judge them so harshly

I had very little interest in this visit and didn't really expect to be much affected by it.

I must admit though, I nearly shed a tear when I saw (on the the RTE news) the WWII veterans watching the arrival on television in hospital - very emotional.

rofl this article is good, but read the last paragraph

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/may/17/queen-ireland-republicans-dubliners
In nearby Henry Street, the only outbreak of violence occurred outside a shop selling Irish traditional souvenirs, when a heroin addict wearing a Liverpool tracksuit was physically prevented from entering the store, and a fight ensued between the man and a security guard

That about sums up Henry Street!

My only question is: why did she bring that ridiculous Range Rover that people can hardly see her in? She should have brought her Bentley and actually allowed people to see her. This is a significant moment and it's a real pity that the Irish people are welcoming a Head of State they can't actually see. Can't understand it! It's not as if the Bentley isn't secure! Perplexing.

The range rover with the 11-D reg plate you mean? :p

The Range Rover is owned by the British Embassy in Dublin thats why it has the Dublin plates, and the BMW's are supplied by BMW Ireland.

Learn to read. The original post that sparked IHeartSaraQuin's little outburst didn't say anything of the sort.

I personally am not particularly in favour of the Queen's visit this week (I'm certainly against the disruption to so many people's lives while she's here!) but as I was passing by the protest/riots today on Dorset Street I just suddently became angry. It was so similar to those stupid riots in 2006.

I completely understand that many republicans were opposed to this visit and I'd even consider myself as a moderate republican to be honest.
But I cannot stand these rough scumbag young thugs that just saw today as an opportunity to get out and cause trouble and fight the gardai.
Half of them don't know a thing about Irish history and know nothing our nation's history other than the very basic "England took our freedom with our 6 counties" type of attitude.

If any of the clowns/junkies/teens/wasters in these photos are labelled as republicans then it is a travesty. Most of them look like they'd have difficulty reciting the alphabet backways or otherwise.

A post that makes sense. Few and far between the last few pages.

29 people died in the Omagh bombing including children, teenagers, a pregnant woman and tourists. They were different creeds and nationalities and were all innocent.

Was a disgraceful incident in Irish history. As were other events that took place 37 years ago today when three no-warning car bombs exploded in Dublin killing 26 people (including a French and Italian citizen) and an unborn baby.
Another car bomb exploded in Monaghan killing another 7 people. It is time for the British to co-operate with enquiries into these bombings, hopefully if anything good comes from this week it will be closure on these incidents. Everyone knows that the timing of these bombings point to collusion and perhaps Mr. Cameron might take the opportunity to address the issue

It's the type of stuff that goes on that Republican site and why there are so many Republican groups, most just meet in phone boxes!
