Bloody idiot 'protesters' on the news throwing fireworks at the Gardaí and vandalising their own city.

You are going to fall of that high horse if you aren't careful ;)

I am Irish not British and just so happen to not have a problem with the Monarchy.

Of course you don't. That's more than clear. The deep, explicit anti-Catholicism of the British monarchy still in 2011, its extraordinary record against the Irish people and much more - you don't have a problem with it. We are well aware of that. Sure, don't they look "pretty" and don't they have fascinating lives and don't you dream of being just like them. Isn't it a relief from the mundaneness of the existence of the average pleb, otherwise known as cowardice and a cop-out.

Dumped of course. I can't see the reason why they confiscate any flags.

By the same logic, I can't see the reason why they would dump any flags.

    you were there then ya?

I agree with Seanchai and the whole population of Dublin's junkies, who also agree with him. That surely has to be the winning side.

If you read through he thread you will see that one poster saw a flag being taken.

Sorry if I don't take the word of one boards member as gospel, I would assume you would think the same way?
Also I guess from the lack of response, you have no other idea of what they should have done with the flags...

The tracksuited skin head looks like he's about to give a Nazi salute. Eirigi do actually describe themselves as both Nationalist, and Socialist. Hmmm.. sounds familiar ;)

I agree. And it was nice to see that the first person to greet her off the plane was a fellow Galway man !

Yes, of course they do this every week to their own city. Oh wait, maybe they don't. What could be different today?

    Don't think too hard.

I'm not a coward nor do I take cop-outs. Your arrogance is staggering.

I in no way condone what was done to this country in the past, nor do I have no problem with it.

But it is just that....the past. It is time now to move on.

I'm sorry my willingness to move into the 21st century is such a hardship for you but that's the way it is and I am not ashamed to welcome this historic event.

How exactly is accepting that this visit is a positive step forward for relations between both nations anything to do with "cowardice and a cop-out"?

They are usually attacking and mugging Irish and foreign people, injecting heroin and making Dublin look like sh**. The usual routine.

What are you smoking! Nasty trip.

She's Britains head of state. She's the representative of the British people. Its their choice, they can become a republic if they like. Not having a problem with them, is not having a problem with our neighbours.
Having a problem with them is having a chip on your shoulder for what happened before you were born.

I was totally indifferent beforehand. Slightly irritated by the traffic diversions earlier..... but...
Having seen the footage on 6.01 news .....
Wow. I was taken aback by it. To see her at Garden of Rememberence for the wreath laying ceremony was amazing. Who would have thought it years ago.
We have come so far that it makes me proud to see her here

    Sssshhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Jesus you are an idiot, its easier just to mock the appearance of the protesters in an ad hominem attack rather than consider that there may actually be an issue that they are píssed off about.

Sure werent they wearing Celtic jerseys and all junkies and jobless.
